Indian Mud Run obstacle races, mud run, and OCR information, distance, cost, dates, calendar, discounts, obstacles, reviews, and more

The Indian Mud run is a very challenging obstacle course race through beautiful hills alongside spectacular rock formations. The Indian Mud Run is an official Obstacle Course Racing World Championship qualifier with the top 5 in each age group men and women qualifying for age group divisions and the top 3 overall men and women qualifying for Pro division.

The 2017 race will feature Dewayne Montgomery Coach Pain” as the start line motivator. New in 2017 the Indian Mud Run will offer 2 race lengths and a new start and finish line area. We also have a 3 lap option (20 miles-150 obstacles) and all 3 lap finishers earn an authentic American Indian made arrow upon completion.

The competitive waves will be 6 plus miles long with 50 plus obstacles. The non-competitive waves will be around a 5k length and offer close to 35 obstacles. The terrain is an obstacle itself and the course will challenge you with world class obstacles.

Some of the obstacles include 20’ cargo net climb, Swivel ladder climb, natural rock climb with ropes, steep hills, Net climb over ravine, Cliff climb on rope ladder, Log traverse, 165’ water slide, 20’ high climbing wall, mud pit and many more. The competitive course is mandatory obstacle completion with bands. The competitive course will have the above obstacles plus the weaver, Rig, walls, rappel, and end with the ¾ mile gauntlet of Skull valley, Irish table, Rope traverse, 40 foot monkey bars, Dragons back, Rope climb, Rig, Half pipe wall and slide into pond, Destroyer and Wall hanger. 4 of the gauntlet obstacles are signature obstacles from past Obstacle Course Racing World Championships and are used with permission from the obstacles owners.

The top 3 finishers in each 5 year age group will receive an authentic American Indian made Tomahawk but you must run in the competitive waves to be eligible for the Tomahawk. The top 15 in each age group will have their name on the back of the following year’s shirt. After the race you get a free can beer (not draft) and a free ride on our Blob pillow. Racers also get a cool medal, and a beautiful shirt. Shirts include the top 500 placers from the previous year’s race. We also have a separate kid’s course.

Our mission is to provide the best mud run possible. We strive to have the best course, a great shirt, a cool finisher’s medal, fun post-race entertainment and good food all at a fair price. We have an awesome course with spectacular rock formations, great views, super obstacles and easy access with a 4 lane highway less than a quarter mile away. Some of our best obstacles are very spectator friendly so bring a camera, some friends and a big smile.

Best course in the country! Most challenging course and terrain! World class obstacles. And best of all it's organized by the greatest people out there and the event improves every year. Be sure to get to this event and challenge yourself!

Indian Mud Run is the premier Ohio local race. The prizes are top of the line, the obstacles are literally world class, and it's the perfect race distance. If your going to travel for a race next year, make sure it's this one.

Best OCR

6☆from me! It's my favorite OCR race. 1st the obstacles! All kinds of them! You'll find here everything from walls, cargo nets, heavy carries , rigs, slides, and unique like Indian Head Valley, Floating Walls, Destroyer, new for this year Nuclear Ninja Rigs or monkey bars! They are loooong! 2nd terrain is just amazing! Course is going up and down, thru steep hills, technical trails, open fields, water. 3rd Awards are amazing Original Indian Spears, Tomahawks, just wow! Awards are going to top 5 pro in females and mens and 3 top finishers in each age groups. Be like Moe! ;) Can't wait to the next year!

This was my first time doing IMR but it was a beyond amazing experience! It was challenging not just physically but mentally. The obstacle are fun, creative, and tough. The natural terrain is amazing and made me love running it that much more. Will definitely be back next year!

Must do!

This race will challenge you and charm you all at once. You will walk away feeling fulfilled. The environment is beautiful, the obstacles unique and frankly some of the best in the business, post race atmosphere unmatched, food (seafood tacos even), drinks (protein smoothies), and people make this race an unrivaled experience. Plan the trip for next year. You will not regret it!

Indian Mud Run is awesome.

Jun 24, 2018 by Samantha Bayless

This was my 3rd OCR, and my first time at Indian Mud Run. The terrian was awesome and challenging in it own way, the obstacles were such a variety it never felt duplicated or quite like the other races and the energy and excitement that seemed to be there at the start made this race the funnest and most challenging. I will definitely be back.

Greay

When I first saw this back in 2012, I was interested, but as I researched more, I found out there’s swimming involved and I ended up not doing it. I think in 2014/15 I decided I’ll just go and just walk around if I have to. One of the best decision I’ve made. A few handful of people I knew were there but that doesn’t stop me from doing any race alone. Doesn’t bother me any.
Since then, I ran it twice before the golf course was even a part of the event. It was a 5k around the golf course. It was still technical but not as many hills like now or obstacles as good.
Last year they changed it that included the golf course. That made room for better obstacles and more spectator friendly. Last year I decided to just take pictures. The things you learn and see while on the sideline are amazing. Though it’s a small local event, there are camaraderie that goes on that a lot of people don’t see. The obstacles itself made me think of doing it next year (2018). This year, I did it and it wasn’t for time but I finally got to experience all the obstacles including new ones. Yes, I was the one carrying a pool noodle the whole time. I wasn’t going to miss the awesome slide and the new obstacle on the pond before the finish line because I’m a weak swimmer. The terrain is perfect, obstacles are top notch, and the environment is great. This is one of the best non-big name event I’ve ever done. A local race that happens once a year and over time kept improving.

World class obstacle course race!! Outstanding obstacles, amazing terrain, one intense and challenging course. A MUST do for any OCR athlete.

We flew in from Florida not knowing what to expect, and i was blown away by the scenery and course layout. Having 50 obstacles and running through deep woods, open valleys, going down a water slide that any amusement park would be jealous of, super technical mountain trails; i mean this race has it all! I compete in around 40 races a year, and this hands down beat every race i have done. The obstacles range from very easy to holy crap, but you had multiple attempts, so you could actually learn and practice; adding to great experience this course provides. Met a ton of great people running the course and the race staff were always cheering you on. This will be on next years calendar!
