While many are still recovering from their OCR World Championships hangover obstacle racing isn't taking a break. Over the past weekend, races were held all around the world.
Obstacle Racers are known not just for getting muddy but for helping others on and off the course. Spartan Race is coming up in Glen Rose, Texas this year the Lone Star Spartans are giving back in a big way for The Guardians for Heros Charity. Sean L. Last weekend was the second stop of the championship season with Warrior Dash World Championships in Tennessee. While most of the industry was focused on Warrior Dash, additional Spartan Races and a Savage Race were taking place in the US as well as a host of regional an local races.

Spartan Race moved the venue for its World Championship race from Killington, Vermont to Squaw Valley near Lake Tahoe in California, the site of the 1960 Winter Olympics.
After Saturday’s Spartan Race World Championship at the beautiful Squaw Valley, the OCR world was happily surprised to crown Robert Killian Jr their new Champion. Many followers were most likely scratching their heads wondering who this “new guy” is and where the hell did he come from??
The story of the weekend was the crowning of the new Spartan Race World Champion Robert Killian. While most of the obstacle racing world had their eyes on Lake Tahoe around the rest of the country a number of other races were taking place with new challenges and obstacles for competitors who couldn't make the trip to Squaw Valley.

Spartan Race World Championships took place yesterday at the iconic Squaw Valley in Lake Tahoe, California. The race brought athletes in from all over the world, in total about 20 countries where in attendance. The first seven miles of the course were a climb up to the peak of Squaw Valley, and it was immediately clear that experienced mountain runners would have an advantage. Robert Killian quickly surged into the lead on the men's side, a position he would not relinquish for the remainder of the day.
