NBC and Spartan Race Announce Dhani Jones and Kyle Martino to Host ‘Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge’

NBC and Spartan Race today officially announced that former NFL linebacker Dhani Jones and former professional soccer star Kyle Martino will man the helm of the new NBC competition show 'Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge'. The two will be joined by course reports American Ninja Warrior and OCR Warrior competitor and co-host Evan Dollard and current sports anchor, MJ Acosta.

Spartan Race rolled into Arizona on Saturday, February 27, 2016 with a sprint distance of just over 4 miles. As they do at every US Spartan Race in 2016, two types were offered for the Kid's Race, the 1/2 mile "Jr. Varsity" and the 1 mile "Varsity" distances.

The 2016 Winter Spartan Race Agoge 001 is complete. Of the thirty-three participants that began the challenge twenty-eight finished. Agoge is an extreme endurance challenge focused on conquering real world survival skills while focusing on several of the SpartanX pillars. This edition of the event focused on True North and Commitment among participants.

Spartan Race kicked off its 2016 season in Southern California last weekend with back to back races at Vail Lake in Temecula. Immediately obvious on arriving at the venue was the distressing lack of water in the lake; with a drop of at least 10-15’ of depth since our last visit back in September, it was clear that the long California drought is far from over. This also left exposed a vast mud plain that was once the lake bottom and would play a role in the race.

One interesting photo emerged on social media last Saturday, a 4-sided triangular "delta" with what appeared to be Spartan Race Trifecta medal holders on 3 of the visible sides. Speculation began immediately; is it just a cool triple (or quadruple, don't forget the bottom triangle) Trifecta holder?

Experience obstacle racing from Spartan Race; ElliptiGO elliptical cycling which combines the best of running, cycling and the elliptical trainer; inov-8 strength training for runners; and TRX suspension training, anytime Wed. afternoon through Friday mid-day, Dec. 2 to 4. A media demo is planned Thurs., Dec. 3., starting at 6 a.m.

Spartan Race World Championship Race Recap

Spartan Race World Championships took place yesterday at the iconic Squaw Valley in Lake Tahoe, California. The race brought athletes in from all over the world, in total about 20 countries where in attendance. The first seven miles of the course were a climb up to the peak of Squaw Valley, and it was immediately clear that experienced mountain runners would have an advantage. Robert Killian quickly surged into the lead on the men's side, a position he would not relinquish for the remainder of the day.
