Survival Run Nicaragua begins on Friday afternoon, held on the island of Ometepe in the middle of Lake Nicaragua. The extreme endurance event enters its 5th year with athletes flocking from around the globe to tackle an event dubbed one of the toughest events on the planet with a 5% - 10% finish rate annually.
SURVIVAL RUN NICARAGUA started on Wednesday morning at 7:00 am for the fourth and arguably the hardest year of the race. Sixty racers would show up on race day, and six racers would become official finishers this year at SURVIVAL RUN NICARAGUA. We break down the race by looking at the numbers as the event unfolded this year.
Survival Run starts tomorrow and today we shift our attention to the team race. Last year the team race was introduced at SURVIVAL RUN NICARAGUA. No team has yet to finish this event. This year several teams are looking to capture all four medals and claim the title of SURVIVAL RUN NICARAGUA team finisher.
I would say this race was unlike any other Fuego y Agua Survival Run event before it, but unless you have been there before, that means nothing. If you have been there – it means everything.
Tomorrow begins the 2015 Fuego y Agua Survival Run, yesterday we looked at who are some of the men to watch in the race. Today we focus on the ladies. The women's race has drawn in some exceptionally fit and strong women this year and this looks like it will be the year that a female completes this race in Nicaragua. In the past only 4 men have completed the race with one finishing two year. Could this be the year that the women break the trend? We think so and here are some of the women who could do it.
Fuego y Agua is just days away with the start of the race Wednesday afternoon. While we might not know what is in store for the racers we can look at some of the top competitors in each of the three races. Today we focus on the men's race and a few of the top men. While nothing is certain in a Survival Run these men have proved in the past that they are strong, tough, and mentally ready to take on this year's Survival Run.
