Spartan has upped their game this year. If you have not done a Spartan in 2015, expect harder courses and harder obstacles. The Georgia 2015 Spartan Sprint was once again at the beautiful International Horse Park in Conyers. Spartan took advantage of the terrain using rolling hills, thick Georgia clay, and even the steep embankments were they could.
To make a quick race weekend, part of the Relentless OCR team traveled down to the Atlanta Spartan Sprint the weekend of March 7-8, 2015. Despite the 3+ hours of stop and go traffic on the way there, the trip was totally worth it.
This past weekend Tough Mudder began their new season with new obstacles, new sponsors and new challenges for participants. As well Spartan Race set sail on the first obstacle racing cruise/race and also took off just outside of a chilly Atlanta.
Rugged Maniac returned to the Georgia International Horse Park to bring their 5k to one of the most OCR-friendly venues near Atlanta, willing and ready to change the minds of some people who thought their course from the previous year left low expectations compared to other major companies in the industry. I can honestly admit I was one of those people after racing last year, with my best description as “It was alright” this year that changed.
