Very well organized and fun race. I have ran WD, TM, Spartan Sprint as well as several other smaller OCRs and this local race ranks up there with the national level OCRs. Base camp was well organized with adequate port-a-potties and vendors and parking went smoothly (only$5). Race fees were reasonable and there was no spectator fee.MC kept everyone well informed of what was going on. There was also a good band playing. Course was well marked and had several obstacles I haven't seen before. The course was well laid out, minimizing bottle necks and had several obstacles close enough to base camp for family/friends to see racers and take pix. There were other photographers on the course and were available online for FREE download within 4 days. Steve Haun Volkswagon was the primary sponsor and did a great job and even added an extra twist for the over achievers on "walk the plank" obstacle and if they completed the harder version earned an extra T Shirt. There were no mile posts markers but I liked the fact that there was a sign at each obstacle with the number of that obstacle and a map was enclosed in your packet so you had a general idea of where you were on the course The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that the location for pre-race packet pickup was in the back corner of an unusual shaped strip mall and was not marked well from main street. Not being from Yakima I had to drive around block several times to locate it. The actual pickup was well ran and organized. I will definitely do this again next year and highly recommend it.
I did this race their first year. it was well organized, the obstacles were better, larger than most. course was flat and fast. This ended up being one of my the Families' favorite runs.
