A Fun Time
Overall a very well organized and fun event. Alisha and her team of volunteers did a very good job of putting on these events. I missed the 100m vertical sprint on Friday evening, but was there for both the 10k trail run and the OCR run on Saturday.
The event location was the Castle Mountain Ski Resort in south western Alberta Canada on the rugged eastern slope of the Rocky Mountains not far from Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park.
Both the trail run and the OCR took advantage of the natural mountainous terrain. In fact, my teammate was often treated to my groaning out "not another hill" lol.
This was my first time participating in the Rough Runner as it conflicted with other events that I had signed up for. Thank you Alisha for not making me choose next year.
The obstacles were the standard fare with the obvious exception of mud. The only water trap was the plastic slip and slide as the very end. We did, however, run into some leftover snow in the higher elevations of the trail run so I guess that also counts as a water obstacle.
Thank you Alisha and team ... a fun, well run event that provided fun for all.
