EPIC FAILURE!!!!!!!!!!!! I will avoid ALL races promoted/directed by Red Frog!!!! Your total lack of regard for our well being is unacceptable! You took our money and basically said..."see ya suckers"!!!! I will tell EVERYONE as often as I can to AVOID the Warrior Dash at ALL costs!!! It was my FIRST and my LAST!!!! BIG FAT FAIL!!!!

A let down to say the least

This was my second year running the Warrior Dash. After last year's race in Mountain City I could not wait to run it again. The date and location were changed to accomodate the Iron Warrior Dash (mistake number 1 and by far the biggest mistake). Parking was nearly 10 miles away! I stood in line for OVER AN HOUR waiting for shuttle buses to take us to the actual course. Now I do understand that it had rained prior and parking at the country club would result in a lot of stuck cars. I'm not complaining about having to park far away I'm irrate over the fact that the shuttles were so poorly planned. Once I finally got to the venue I had to deal with the chaos of check in. There were seperate tents for women and men and that caused quite a bit of confusion as well since everything was so poorly signed. I spent a good 10 minutes waiting for them to find my packet only to be sent to the info tent. I do commend the staff at the info tent because they had me with a packet and goodies in no time. Since I spent so much time waiting on a bus I missed my actual start time. The course this year was a mile longer but it felt as though there were even less obstacles. It was definitely muddier than last year but only in the sense that you had to run through the mud, not much crawling or climbing. The terrain was relatively flat and there was quite a bit of running before you even came to the first obstacle. And the mud pit at the end was just as bad. I enjoyed the fact that it was a peanut butter mud; it was challenging, but the pit was nowhere near wide enough. I'm sure I spent at least 10 minutes in there because I couldn't get out even if I wanted to. I did like the bottle opener medals and the tshirts this year. The "pond" to clean ourselves off in was just as much of an obstacles. It was hard to get in. I had planned on taking pictures once I changed but unfortunately there weren't even any changing tents! Then I had the pleasure of standing in the bag check line for nearly an hour. There were no more than 20 people in front of me at the time I got in line so you can just imagine how pissed I was by time I finally gather my belongings. By that point I was so irriated just from spending more time in lines than I did on the course I decided to just head back to my car. Thank god I got in line when I did because it backed up quickly. Luckily I spent no more than 30 minutes waiting for a shuttle back, but others spent upwards of 2 hours. Unless WD goes back to Mountain City, I highly suggest you stay away from Warrior Dash GA.

WORST EVER !!!!!! DO NOT SIGN UP NEXT YEAR !!!!

To start, this was my second Warrior Dash. The first one last year was great and we could not wait to sign up for this year’s event. What a disappointment this it was. This was the WORST planned event ever!!!! Wait times for bag check were over 1hr along with wait lines to get on the buses back to our cars, that had to be parked over 12 miles away, being over 2hrs to 3 hrs long. There was a $10 charge to park 12 miles away in a field which was ridiculous. No help from any of the staff working the event. Security was a joke and did nothing but cussed and threatened runners when we complained about people cutting in lines and them doing nothing by standing around talking. It was so bad that people called 911 due to the riot that was about to break out!!!! Some people went as far as walking the 12 miles back to their cars just to avoid the wait and violence that was breaking out.
Everyone should be given their money back. Horribly organized and a nightmare for the runners!!! They should apologize to everyone for their horribly, ridiculous and pathetic planning and performance at this event.

I agree with the Post "Worst Coordinated Mud Run EVER!!!"1000%. If they have it in the same location and do not take it back to Mountain City, my family will be doing something else. To say it was a huge disappointment would be the understatement of the year.

Extremely Poor Planning

Race and course were great! Our time wave was late, 5:30. It was very crowded, but lines for obstacles were very short. With that being said... unless major changes are made, I would NEVER do the warrior dash again. As mentioned, the parking was 8 miles away. We waited in line 1.5 hrs just to get to the race site (which didn't seem to annoying at the time since it was beautiful weather). I didn't mind the walk to the lake afterwards or the lack of showers, going in to it you have to know you are going to be dirty as hell! The biggest problem was the 2 hr wait for a bus ride back to the parking lot. The sun had set, temps were dropping and every wet, muddy warrior was freezing their ass off. I felt terrible for the families who brought children to the event. We finally got on a bus around 8:30pm, there were still hundreds of people behind us and it was almost pitch black. Everyone was complaining about the event, but no one lost their sense of humor.

Worst Coordinated Mud Run EVER!!!

After doing several Mud Runs over the years: Spartan Race, Mud Crusade, Merrell Down & Dirty, etc. etc. etc. First off, first time ever having to pay parking. The logistics of the shuttles and parking off site 8 miles from the course was ludicrous! This company should reimburse every person that parked a car for the parking fee as a minimal gesture for what a waste of time this run was. Every other Mud Run company has parking on-site within minimal walking distance. Every other company has some kind of shower / hose-down area and system which is very close to the finish line of the race. The small pond they had available for cleaning off was an absolute disgusting experience. I would not let my farm pigs bath in that pond and it was a very far walk from the end of the finish and then back to the shuttle line. Standing in lines for shuttles to and and from the race, bathrooms, check in, baggage check, food, beer...EVERYTHING...was a total nightmare. Every single person there was angry and frustrated at the debacle. This event used to be spread out over two days to handle the approximate 10,000 + people in the run. This was a big mistake to consolidate it down to 1 day. Whoever was in charge of transportation and logistics needs to learn form this nightmare. Based on what others who had already finished the race when we got there said, we did not bring anything to the course to check such as camera, towel, dry cloths, jackets to stay warm...due to the check in lines reportedly being 1 hour long. So by the end of the race, we waited in line for the shuttle back to the parking lot for 2 hours, shivering cold, all the while with no event staff member ever acknowledging the issue, apologizing oroffering some token of apology in line such as towels, water, a hot snack...nothing. If this company wants ANYONE to come back to this race, they should reimburse every single runner or give everyone a free pass for the next event, otherwise the opportunity to have this as a viable option for people to run will die with disinterest and all of those runner going to other , better-organized events. The course was not bad, but any enjoyment of benefit we might have gotten out of it was so tarnished by all the other logistical issues, that our memory of the event is awful...and we want to forget it as soon as possible. EVERY SINGLE PERSON WE TALKED TO AND OVERHEARD SAID THE WILL NEVER DO A WARRIOR DASH EVENT AGAIN, EVER, EVER, EVER! (btw, for the rating with star system, there was no option for zero starts so I had to select 1 star!)

Georgia Warrior Dash Huge Failure

The review titled "GA 2013 Logistical Nightmare" says it all. What a massive disappointment. That said, the course itself was a lot of fun. But we spent a total of approx. 3 hours waiting in lines for shuttles. Then the return bus drove at such a high speed we felt it was dangerous. My wife and I brought my mother-in-law and our two young boys. It started to remind me of what Altamont (the 60s festival) must have felt like in the interminable line for the return shuttle. Bummer.

Unorganized pathetic waste of time. 12 hours out of my day and 11 of those spent in chaotic lines to complete a 5k???? Their slogan should be "I endured the warrior dash" not "I survived"

GA 2013 Logistical Nightmare

This year's WD moved to Douglasville, GA.
While the land was flat & surroundings gorgeous, I'm kinda baffled about a few things.
We arrived to a huge field for parking, walked a good ways to an incredibly long line to wait for a shuttle bus.
We wound up missing our heat by an hour.
Not too big a deal, staff told us it didn't matter, we could start at next avail heat.
Ok we begin & this year we ran faster and completed obstacles faster than last year yet it took us an hour 10 to finish. Last year we weren't even trying hard at all to race (we also stopped frequently for our group to complete obstacles)....& finished in 46 mins.
We did have a ridiculously long wait at the very end so maybe that's why. We aren't super competitive so it's no big deal about the time.
However, our issues began when trying to leave.
It was a 90 minute wait to get a bus back & we even cut the line (I know, terrible but we had our sitter texting that she needed to get going and were freaking about how wrong we were in estimating logistics for the day).
So it's an 8 mile drive back to parking.
We counted a total of 10 buses!
For thousands of people who were forced to park 8 miles away.
Really?!?!
Need to rethink that one.
I guess they did, because as we were finally leaving the parking lot at 4:45, we saw a group of charter buses pulling in as reinforcements.
If they can work out shuttle logistics next year, and maybe not have the final obstacle as quick sand! Then I will give it 5 stars.
I could care less about shower facilities or lack of restrooms.
Most people know what you're getting into & we plan accordingly.
Just have fun & know that if you're really wanting a good finish time, consider totally skipping the mud pit if it's 50 people deep shoulder to shoulder.

Warrior Dash 2012

I am 47 years old and this was my first Warrior Dash. My husband and I both signed up when we heard our co-workers at North Memorial were also signing up and told us about the event. We even trained together on our break times. I read several of the reviews on this site and was surprised that so many complained about not having showers and soap and a place to change and parking fees. I think we should all keep this in perspective. This is a fund raiser not an event to cater to our particular needs. Surely we can handle a little suffering for the benefit of others who have endured real suffering and hardship. If you prepare a little in advance and bring some clean wet towels, a change of clothes and put large plastic bags over your seats in your vehicles you will survive the ride home and be able to shower and clean up when you get there. These events are large and draw lots of people. The property takes a beating when they host these events. So parking is $10.00, I'm sure it probably goes to help pay for the wonderful folks who offer up their land to host such an event. Who cares. This is a fund raising event. We can all suffer a little for those who suffer much more. We enjoyed the event and we are going to do it again this year on Sept 7th as well. I think the folks who host these events do a fine job. Keep in mind it takes a village to host this event. They can't have spectators all along the entire course as there just aren't enough hosts to monitor the crown. Remember this isn't about us it is about the people you are doing this for in the first place. Instead of complaining why not try to offer up some economical suggestions for the event hosts. I'm sure they would appreciate any low cost solutions to assist with changing, showering, hydiene tips, and such. I know I am bringing some large wet towels, hand sanitizer, my own roll of toilet paper, and covering my car seats with large plastic trash bags or old towels. I'm not going to let these little discomforts stop me from participating in this event. I usually just write a check or donate online. This if by far much more gratifying and satisfying. I hope the rest of you who are unsure whether you will participate again read this and change your mind. Great job to all of you who work/volunteer for this great cause. Looking forward to Sept 7th. the Minnesota Olsons.
