Warrior Dash obstacle races, mud run, and OCR information, distance, cost, dates, calendar, discounts, obstacles, reviews, and more

As of July 30th, 2019 Warrior Dash has announced they are ceasing operations. Please see this post for details, including several other OCRs who are stepping up and offering free races for affected Warrior Dash racers.

Warrior Dash is the world's largest running series and is held on challenging and rugged terrains across the world. Participants bound over fire, trudge through mud and scale over 12 obstacles during this fierce 5K. From couch potatoes to novice runners to extreme athletes, Warrior Dash truly is an event for all athletic abilities.

The inspiration behind Warrior Dash was to create the most bad-ass day possible. It is a day where participants can challenge themselves, be active and get muddy. Participants tackle the course and then celebrate their accomplishments with beer, food and live music.

Warrior Dash is an alternative to the classic 5K and provides an incomparable experience for participants and spectators. The unique combination of athleticism, live music, turkey legs and beer keeps Warriors coming back for more.

Warrior Dash is partnered with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The St. Jude Warriors program encourages Warrior Dash racers to fundraise for St. Jude. With the help of 2012 participants Warrior Dash has raised over 2 million dollars for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Red Frog Events prides itself on creating the Active Entertainment Industry, which is a combination of fitness, entertainment and event management. As a leader in the industry, we strive to make each Warrior Dash more unique and challenging than the last. Innovation is continuously brewing back at Red Frog Events office where the whole team is dreaming up new obstacles and twists for Warrior Dash. In the end, we are in the business of having fun!

My daughter and I have participated in this run for 3 years in a row. We anticipate and prepare for the day months in advance. This year was so disappointing for many reasons. The first is we were obviously running on a motor cross course that was simply muddied up with several pools of water added as obstacles. There were no real obstacles to conquer, and the ones that were there had no challenge-no creatitivity to them at all. One obstacle stated, must be able to swim, and had a 12 foot drop under it as you walked15 feet across a plank. Yet, there was no water under it. If I fell, where was the water to protect me from hitting the ground? We had of course, signed release waivers. There were only 2 water stations compared to last year's 6! There were no photographers-at all. I felt great the last 2 years when I finished this race. This year, I was exhausted by so much deep mud to pull myself through. It took us a half an hour longer to complete this race just to work through the
mud. And timers? The promised timers were not there. Once we crossed the finish line, we went to wash off so much more mud than we've experienced before. The water hoses were not working. My daughter went down the slide and the tarp that should have been secured was not. as he caught her foot on it and burned her ankle. My husband who brought us to the event ate while he waited and
said the food was less than mediocre and over priced. What a shame in comparison to the last years experiences we had. It's as if someone got themselves a money maker with people hooked in it
and have now cut back on the quality of the event. What a shame for St. Jude. We won't be back. I will send a check to St. Jude directly instead!

Easy fun mud run

May 12, 2014 by Jason Ritenour

This was my second mud run, and my first Warrior Dash. First, of all, the packet pick up and gear check were pretty swamped when we got there at around 1:30PM. It moved fast enough, I supposed, but it was still the slowest packet pick-up of any race I've ever run.

The run itself was a good time. The event was held at a motocross track, and there was a nice mix of hills, wooded terrain and plenty of good, thick mud. The obstacles were not particularly challenging, but were fun for the most part. The new Goliath obstacle was a blast, combining a cargo net climb, walking across a plank (albeit with ropes on either side) and a water slide into a mud pit. Overall, this was a course that was pretty inclusive - people of all ages and body types were there. This was my 60 year old father-in-law's first mud run, and he had a blast.

Post race - the washing off area was horrible. There wasn't enough water pressure to knock off even a little bit of mud.

Overall it was a fun afternoon of playing in the mud.

What? No timers?

May 11, 2014 by Cristine Lynch

This is my fourth Warrior Dash (the previous three were in Virginia) and I was very disappointed at the lack of timers. I like to see how my time compares to other people's in my age range and to my past performances. I will only participate in the future if the timers return. Plus it took 10-15 minutes waiting in line to pick up my packet and 10 minutes to check my bag. Add to that that the hoses weren't working for the mud wash-off!!

Disappointed that it was not timed - couldn't see where I ranked with people my age.
No water truck to wash off - the pond we were directed us to wash off in had dead fish floating.

The obstacles were great - much tougher than last year! Loved the slide!!

Warrior Dash KC 2014

Apr 29, 2014 by Lucy White

The warrior dash is usually my "warm up" to the start of my race season. As far as rating goes, it really depends on the athlete writing it. I mean, if I were doing this as a serious, for time, elite group run, I would rate it differently. (1 star re: difficulty)
It was a great run this year in KC!! Far better than last year. It was more challenging and the obstacles were great, even though they were modified and not as challenging as they could have been. We do this race as a family, (my huband and 14yr old son), and I had two first timers with me this year. They loved it and will do it again. My son loved it and could have run with me competively in it BUT if you bring a team with you...You start as a team and you finish as a team! So, it was a fun run and good time. We will do it every year and I hope they continue to get better and better.
If your a first timer this is a good race for you and if your a seasoned OCR, then just enjoy the course and a good time with friends!! It's always a good time!!

Warrior Dash Jackson MS 2014

Apr 28, 2014 by Eric Leatherwood
Event Name: Warrior Dash Jackson MS April 26, 2014

The property was spectacular. Sadly, since running my first Warrior dash three years ago, the organization has slipped below expectations. Three big issues: 1. No timing of the contestants. This pretty much is a deal breaker for me as I like to see how I compare to everyone who entered. I will not be back if this issue is not resolved. 2. The obstacles seemed to be dumbed down quite a bit. The natural terrain was a challenge, but the man-made obstacles were pretty tame and offered little challenge. Again, if this issue is not addressed, I will not be back. 3. Over the past three years, Warrior Dash seems to have moved from an event that can be both fun and challenging to more of a fun-run/party atmosphere. Nothing wrong with fun or parties, but the challenging aspects of the event seem to be slowly disappearing.

Bait and Switch , I trained for nine months to compete in my age group only to find out that there will be no timing. I talked to a spoke person in the corp. office and was told there would be a water truck for post race shower, didn't happen I was told there would be a clock at start and finish lines didn't happen shuttle to event site was a cluster =uck. To top things off I found out that NONE of your entry fee or the outrageous $10 parking goes to St Jude, just your donations. First and last time!

Enjoyed the run, however, extremely disappointed these are no longer timed. Takes a lot away. Don't know that we will participate again.

Self Timed = stupid waste of time

Apr 18, 2014 by Jon

This was my 5th Georgia Warrior Dash and likely my last. The first 3 years were a well organized fun event. This year we came primarily to compete for the championship in California so we picked the competitive wave.
I had no idea the competitive wave would not be timed. I have no idea what time it took me to race no clocks at start or finish line. I think they have turned this race into a costume contest.
They did not have officials at all of the obstacles so their were people in the competitive wave running around obstacles! I was climbing down one as I watched 3 people run to the end and down a flight of stairs.
In short if you want to run a real race pick anything else but just consider Warrior Dash an expensive fun run or costume contest that you win nothing for doing.

Warrior Dash Blast

Apr 17, 2014 by Sharlene

I was The Proud Winner of the Warrior Dash Tickets. I had a BLAST! I have done 5 Different Mud runs in the past year. This one was the Second Easiest - Dirty Girl being My FIRST & Easiest. I expected it to be more difficult but Enjoyed it none the less. No real complaints... I liked that by the end of the race you were mostly clean again! Oh Was there a place to clean up? I didn't see anywhere- Maybe only draw back but I paid a dollar to use a hose down the street! JUST GOOD CLEAN FUN ;) If you ask me!!!!

The Ultimate Mud Run, Obstacle Race and Adventure Race Guide , USA 2.8 5.0 197 197 I wouldn't even call this "Milwaukee" 2019 as it was an hour away. However, it was 100% ON A SKI HILL. It wasn't so much an obstacle run as it was just running a 5k up and down sk
