The Outdoor Education Center of For Love of Children and Jefferson County Parks and Recreation are excited to announce the 3rd annual “Sam Michaels 5K Obstacle Challenge” race, on Saturday, April 11, 2015.
Using the area’s unique history and love of a challenge, “Sam Michael’s 5K” race committee members have created an event for all ages and competitive levels.
We created this race to break from tradition and appeal to people who are not necessarily everyday runners or athletes, but individuals who want to push themselves in a fun and safe, yet still physically demanding environment.
This event combines the competitive edge of a traditional race, but with an adventurous, fun-natured obstacle course with a focus on our local history.
