Run For Your Lives obstacle races, mud run, and OCR information, distance, cost, dates, calendar, discounts, obstacles, reviews, and more
Run For Your Lives has gone out of business. The Zombie Run has stepped in to still put on a few of the previously scheduled events to try and help out participants. If you are looking for an upcoming Zombie Run due to Run For Your Lives being cancelled, check out The Zombie Run
Protect your brain and run for your life. This is one race where your legs giving out are the least of your problems. Run For Your Lives is a first-of-its-kind event, one part 5K, one part obstacle course, one part escaping the clutches of zombies — and all parts awesome.
Runners will navigate a series of challenging obstacles throughout a 5K course in an attempt to reach the finish line — all while avoiding zombies. At the end of this adventure race, you get to celebrate survival (or zombie transformation) with live entertainment and music, local celebrities, vendors, food, and of course, beer!
Basic Survival
- Before the race, you will be given a flag belt, just like the overly intimidating game of flag football. These flags represent your health.
- The zombies want to take your flags and maybe eat your brains.
- If you lose all your health flags, you die. And the zombies win.
- Health bonuses will be hidden throughout the course. If you find one and carry it to the finish, it will save your life.
What You’re Up Against
- Throughout the 5K obstacle race, there will be a series of man-made and natural obstacles for you to complete. Runners may choose NOT to complete an obstacle, BUT any runner who skips an obstacle will not be eligible for prizes.
- There will be zombies. Their job is to chase you and eat you — but mainly go after your health, in the form of your flag belt. Avoid the zombies to keep your health flags.
- Use speed, strategy and your intact brains to make it to the FINISH LINE “alive” with at least ONE FLAG INTACT (or a health bonus pack). If you finish with zero health flags, this means the zombies have successfully transformed you into the “undead”; your time will be recorded, but you will not be eligible for awards.
How You’ll Do It
There will be a start line, and a finish line, but what happens in between is up to you. There are multiple routes to reach the finish. Choose wisely, or your 5k might turn into a 10k.

Austin Run For Your Lives
So the race will go on thanks to Human Movement, details at https://www.facebook.com/HumanMovement
Cancelled Event with no refund.
Stoled $300 dollars, cancelled race and no refund!! Criminals!!!!
RFYL - was the best, now its THE WORST!!!
Company cancelled with no explanation and wants us to contact our bank for a refund which means they are telling us to dispute their charge?!?! F*&^ing RIDICULOUS!!! On top of that noone will respond to your emails about a refund and they got to the point they shut down their facebook page. This race was awesome and there is no way they were struggling financially. 2013 So cal they needed TWO days and extended the waves into the night because they sold out so quick! Someones stealing money for sure. Dumb excuses on their end. I hope someone sues!!!
Unreliable, will not try again
The race organizers cancelled the event - bad enough, but they aren't refunding the entry fees! Instead, they told us to contact are banks for a refund. How is that legal? The race sounds awesome, but they won't be seeing me sign up again ever.
Huge Disappointment
Earlier this week, they sent the pre-race info e-mail, then a few days later, canceled the event with no explanation and no refunds. I paid for this event almost a year ago, This is ridiculous. People had airline tickets to attend this and now they lost their money. Horrible!
No refund/No explanation
I signed up for this event along with 5 other co-workers. We had to re-arrange our work schedule, get 2 hotel rooms in the middle of no where and now we receive an email stating we have to contact OUR bank for a refund. It would of been better to receive an email that it was cancelled and if we would like a refund they would comply. What kind of entity is running this event, keeping my money without my saying, do they not understand the inconvenience we will go through to even try to get our money back from our bank!!!! Alot of people are losing their money for non-refundable hotel rooms, now they keep our money. They can count on at least 6 people never registering for their events again:(
No explanation? No refund?
I just got the email stating that all future events are indefinitely postponed with no reason, no explanation and that I should obtain my refund via my financial institution?? When trying to find a contact number for the company and trying to get into the website, it appears to be locked down now! I'm angry and upset about this, I have printed out my emails with confirmations and the email I just got so hopefully the bank doesn't give me trouble. What a rip off! BOO to RFYL!
So Upset!
Wow.....Just a random email cancelling the event with no blip of a refund or explanation!!! "Contact your bank" Good luck with that. We paid for a hotel already (nonrefundable) as we live in Tampa, and our friend bought a plane ticket to fly to Florida to join us (also nonrefundable). If this company ever comes back, don't count on doing the event, count on spending money you won't get back.
Cancled events without notice, refund, or explanation. Bullshit.
