Run For Your Lives obstacle races, mud run, and OCR information, distance, cost, dates, calendar, discounts, obstacles, reviews, and more
Run For Your Lives has gone out of business. The Zombie Run has stepped in to still put on a few of the previously scheduled events to try and help out participants. If you are looking for an upcoming Zombie Run due to Run For Your Lives being cancelled, check out The Zombie Run
Protect your brain and run for your life. This is one race where your legs giving out are the least of your problems. Run For Your Lives is a first-of-its-kind event, one part 5K, one part obstacle course, one part escaping the clutches of zombies — and all parts awesome.
Runners will navigate a series of challenging obstacles throughout a 5K course in an attempt to reach the finish line — all while avoiding zombies. At the end of this adventure race, you get to celebrate survival (or zombie transformation) with live entertainment and music, local celebrities, vendors, food, and of course, beer!
Basic Survival
- Before the race, you will be given a flag belt, just like the overly intimidating game of flag football. These flags represent your health.
- The zombies want to take your flags and maybe eat your brains.
- If you lose all your health flags, you die. And the zombies win.
- Health bonuses will be hidden throughout the course. If you find one and carry it to the finish, it will save your life.
What You’re Up Against
- Throughout the 5K obstacle race, there will be a series of man-made and natural obstacles for you to complete. Runners may choose NOT to complete an obstacle, BUT any runner who skips an obstacle will not be eligible for prizes.
- There will be zombies. Their job is to chase you and eat you — but mainly go after your health, in the form of your flag belt. Avoid the zombies to keep your health flags.
- Use speed, strategy and your intact brains to make it to the FINISH LINE “alive” with at least ONE FLAG INTACT (or a health bonus pack). If you finish with zero health flags, this means the zombies have successfully transformed you into the “undead”; your time will be recorded, but you will not be eligible for awards.
How You’ll Do It
There will be a start line, and a finish line, but what happens in between is up to you. There are multiple routes to reach the finish. Choose wisely, or your 5k might turn into a 10k.

mad as hell
I would like my money back anybody know how !!!!!!!!!!
Date and Location Change x3, no refund
I see I am not the only one deceived by this organization in addition to having my money taken. Four of us had planned on going to the originally scheduled event, stuck with it for the first change, and ending up not being able to go after the third change. One of us got his money back almost immediately, yet the rest of us did not, despite sending emails at the exact same time. All I received was this email:
"SEP 10, 2013 | 04:03PM EDT
Clare replied:
Your tickets will be refunded to the payment on file. We will be going through a high volume of refunds, so we appreciate your patience as it may take up to 30 days.
RFYL Team"
Then several ignored replies to my inquiries about the status of the refund. We will never be participating in events held by this organization ever again, nor will we let anyone we know do so either. We filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, but they can't help us get our money back. Pathetic.
Name Changed, Dates Changed
I was planning on registering for this race but the website disappeared while searching for another zombie run, I came across this information on this website under registering as a zombie

I just found out about the RFYL Zombie Runs have been cancelled. I had originally registered in July for the run in Missouri in October 2013. One of our participants became ill so we weren't able to go so I paid for the Location Transfer to Dallas. I called my credit card company and they gave me a number to call the organizer but of course there isn't an answer (it is late - almost 11pm - so will try tomorrow morning). Since the original registration was done in July it may be too long ago for my credit card company to reverse the charge. I am beyond furious....I may have just lost over $300.
Very bad business practices
I see I am not the only one being lied to by this company. I signed up for two registrations for the July 27th race. When the race was cancelled I was told my refund was on its way. Well 4-5 months later, numerous emails and lots of lies about how they are behind on refunds, and I still have not received my money. It is close to two hundred dollars that they have stolen from me and it has me very angry. I recommend no one sign up for a race with this company as they are extremely unprofessional and will rip you off without a second thought. Do not do business with these people! In addition they are forcing me to pick a star rating before this will post. They do not deserve the one star they are forcing me to pick before my review is posted. They deserve negative ratings but they don't offer that.
This race was moved two times.. I opted for the refund they were offering as I couldn't travel to the new location. I got a prompt response at the beginning of July stating ill have my money in 30 days. As of 11/30 I have yet to get a refund. They responded to an Email in October stating I'd be refunded "shortly". They have not responded to the 2 other emails. I see I am not the only one who is having problems. I have contacted the Hartford, CT local media and wondering if there has been legal action taken. This is beyond the $90 they owe me, it's unethical and bad business.
Was there even a race?!
We drove over am hour and nothing!! We were at the location on the map! Wth happened??!!
runforyourlives
I am trying to log into the website www.runforyourlives.com down here in FL to register in the central FL orlando run but for some reason the website is not letting me through like its expire. please help the race is in NOV.16
Class Action Lawsuit
The race was supposed to be July 23 in CT, then it was changed to MA for the same date, but added two hours onto my commute. Then come July, they change the date to September and change the location to NH....RIDICULOUS. I was promised a refund, and it said it could take up to 30 days, and it is now over 3 months and still no refund. There must be a lawyer or two running in these races. Can't we file a huge lawsuit against whoever planned these events. I cannot find any information on who the created the events.
