Stay Away!
This race SUCKEDDDDD. From being low on volunteers, to bad course markings to stupid obstacles. This venue needs to get its crap together. Not worth it, unless they're charging $25 entry fee just don't bother. The only thing I can actually say that's positive is that parking was well situated. Nothing challenging about this race though. I think I've encountered harder obstacles at a Chucke Cheese's playground.
Woot!!
Glad to see you guys are coming back to NY this year! My team will be there! Really fun race for anyone hasn't tried a mudmanx yet..
Fun race!
Our family had a great time running this together. The zombies on the course made it really fun. See you next year!
Why is the online registration closed?! The Amazon Local discount is STILL available, yet no one can register. I have 3 more team members who have been trying to sign up. And, this race isn't even listed on upcoming events on your FB page. What's the deal? There a some angry people over this.
registration closed before prices went up? did they cancel event?
no email no notification, no updated posts!
So excited!
Totally looking forward to Saturday's race! I don't know what Dan is talking about I ran Jersey Shore in July and it was frikkin great! One of the best MudManX events I've been to! Great start to the season!
Super Fun Race
My whole team had a great time at this race! All the obstacles were challenging but not impossible for any of our group. The 5k length was perfect and at the end we got tons of freebies...tshirts, dog tags, free beer, fruit and drinks and a bunch of samples from sponsors. Can't wait for the next one!
AWESOME RACE!
We loved everything about this race. Easy access of the parkway. Parking so close you didn't even need to use bag check. Friendly staff and volunteers. They had great swag this year. I love the new dog tags and the new shirts! Free beer is always nice to see too. I clocked the course at 3.5 miles, although it was advertised as 3.1. Plenty of challenging obstacles. I was able to finish all but the monkey bars with rope handles(tough one after the water obstacle). Definitely will be back!
Generic Race
PARKING = B
Parking was onsite. They claimed that there was a $10 parking fee but no one stopped me for parking. If you buy a season pass, parking is free.
FESTIVAL = C
The area was small but there was music (from a PA system) and vendors with give aways. Real bathrooms were available.
BAG CHECK = C
They wanted to charge you $5 for bag check. If you buy a season pass, parking is free.
STARTING LINE = D
There was a banner and a guy with a megaphone trying to hype you up. No timer, no crowd, no starting obstacle.
COURSE LAYOUT = C
The layout was ok. It was asphalt, grass, dirt, mud, woods. It was pretty standard. This race was 3.1 miles.
OBSTACLES = C
Nothing new here. Every obstacle has been done before – walls, crawls, monkey bars. No fire, no wind, no ice (their other races have this).
Best Obstacle = Walls
Worst Obstacle = Ninja side jumps
WATER STATIONS = B
3 water stations on a 3 mile course. Water only, no food.
FINISH LINE = C
Standard finish. Banner with a crowd. It is almost immediately following the final obstacles.
SHOWERING/CHANGING = C
Showers (hoses on a fence) were provided (as was free deodorant).
SWAG = B
You received a t-shirt as well as dog tags. Previously, MudManX gave headbands instead of dog tags. The dog tags were the nicest dog tags that I have received to date.
CONCLUSION:
This race is pretty generic. Generic festival, starting, terrain, and obstacles. Overall, it’s an ok race. If you have free time and a Groupon, try this race.
Just signed up and can't wait! Ran with my team last year at their New Egypt Speedway race and it was really awesome. We passed a 4 mile marker before the end so it was a longer distance. There were a lot of obstacles at this one too. Must have been at least 25. Good times
