Scam :(
I see the scam reports for TN - it's hit Ohio as well. My team signed up way back in MAY for this, and today they sent out an E-mail saying they were unable to hold the race because they couldn't create a safe course. The race is for this Saturday - you expect me to believe that they didn't know 'til now they couldn't hold the race? No where to contact them, they don't respond online. What a scam. And now LONG past the 60 day limits on contesting the charge.
they canceled it at last min and say they wont give me my money back. Someone please send me a website to help me out. taracarper@yahoo.com
DO NOT sign up for The Great American Mud Run!!! They canceled the race scheduled in Manchester Tn last month. I initially received an email stating that I could either take a refund or participate in the rescheduled race in November. Today they sent out another email stating the November race is now canceled too and per there policy no refunds will be issued. Can u say THEFT!
HORRIBLE!!!!! Scam, scam, scam. Now they have cancelled the November race and will STILL not refund any race fees!!!! An organization screws up twice, doesn't put the event on, and KEEPS the participants' fees. Crooks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NEVER SIGN UP FOR THEIR RACES...IT IS A SCAM!!!
At first they just postponed the race and offered refunds to those that could not make the new date. It just so happens that they said all refunds would be processed on a date that just so happened to be past the timeframe to file a dispute with your credit card company. Now they have cancelled the event and stated no refunds.
You can call Shawn (the race director) at 757-656-9776 to voice your displeasure.
So quick to take my money when I originally registered for the race. Then they cancel the race and reschedule for another date. They give me the option to opt out of the race and get a full refund or stay registered for the new date. I OPT OUT and they tell me refunds will begin being processed 8/1/13. Well I still do not have my refund and they will not reply to any of my communications. Will be filing a formal complaint very soon.
They took hundreds of dollars from our team and won't give it back after THEY cancelled te race
Absolutely pathetic!
Rating of 1 star does them justice. This has been an awful experience. Would NEVER recommend this program to anyone. Was postponed (for unknown reason) then more than a month and still no refund or even an email giving us any new info on it or status... Absolutely pathetic.
Do Not register for this race. Hundreds of people are out hundreds of dollars. This race is a huge scam!!!
Poor reception
The system only allow a minimum of "1 star" to be given; I believe that is being kind. Like several posts before mine, I have yet to receive my refund for the Manchester, TN race that was cancelled on July 27th. It is beyond unprofessional to ignore emails/online submissions from paying entrants.
If there were any other way to contact this organization, or its affiliates, I would file a BBB complaint.
At this point, we may all kiss our $160 goodbye.
Because like Scarlett & Tara, it is GONE, GONE, GONE!
