In our estimation, people are good, and capable of much more when they work together, for each other. GORUCK Events are proof, but this happens only by pushing individuals beyond their limits.

Excellent start to a promising event
The GoRuck Nasty Nick is a 6-mile, 27-obstacle course on the ski slopes outside Shenandoah. Like the Tough Mudder, the event is not a race. The event was fun and challenging--there were 4-5 obstacles I had serious difficulty getting through, but nothing that made me feel completely out of my league. The obstacles felt sturdy and I felt safe climbing as high as they took me. It was less of a run and more of a hike because of the extreme angle of the slope on which the course was set. There were a few hiccups in the organization of the event because this was the first time GoRuck has done this event (long lines at a few obstacles), but nothing that won't get fixed for the next time. The best part was the atmosphere. Lots of great camaraderie from the cadre on down, encouragement from fellow runners, and a festive atmosphere afterwards coming from a company with a great reputation. I will recommend this event to my friends and will probably run it again in the future.
