Third year, and still a great value
So a friend of mine and I just finished this race for the third year in a row, and each year it just gets better and better. There was a new obstacle this year, and it was a dandy. This has to be the best 'under the radar' race around. Not many people run this course, but they should because for $20 you can't get a better value. Not much for a festival area, but absolutely great for beginners and families due to the lower attendance and abundantly friendly staff (mostly volunteer firefighters and Lions club members).
My kids love watching me get blasted with the fire hose. Yes, a real fire hose. I also love the slip and slide they added recently. Very well done, and super fun.
If you have some time, give this one a try. You won't be disappointed.
Best value!
A great course for beginners and seasoned athletes alike. We had both in our group and everyone found something they liked. It was around the typical 5k length, and took our group about 45 mins to complete at a comfortable jogging pace. The obstacles were well placed, ranged in difficulty from very easy to reasonably difficult, and were well built. Great job build team! Water stops were perfectly placed and had cold water. The race leaders allowed our kids to hand us the water. Super cool on the Lions' part. We will definitely be back next year.
