First City Challenge Race

I am an experienced OCR racer - this was my first City Challenge Race. Overall, it was a good experience, and I’d like to see this series succeed. Pluses: Free and convenient parking. Some really good obstacles (e.g., sandbag/water combo carry; tire flip; Urban Cliffhanger). Not crowded - small waves. Minuses: Volunteers didn’t know the course so couldn’t be helpful to spectators. Given the time of year, the race should have started earlier. No post race party on site.

This race is a scam.

They are planning to cancel certain heats but refuse to refund money for anyone who already signed up. Sleazy. Don't make the same mistake that I did in signing up.

We love the medals and this race series! Take a Saturday away from the mud, and enjoy the obstacles of this unique addition to the OCR Community!

This race is such a great time and they always have new obstacles! I can't wait for the 22nd!

City Challenge

The event is organized in a way that makes it a great OCR if you want to go for time (open elite wave- no bottlenecking), or just finish casually with a bunch of friends. Always fun and as hard as you want to make it. The process for signing up as an individual or as a team is very seamless, and emails / questions for staff are answered promptly. On race day they have plenty of free refreshments pre and post event (protein shakes, fruit, water, sandwiches, various juices, etc). They go big on swag too. Unique obstacles, friendly event crew, and well organized. A product of sound race direction, strong sponsorship, and community engagement. This is how all races should be organized! Always a good time

This is a great race and very well organized. All the obstacles are manned by volunteers who encourage you and there are usually many giveaways and perks at the end from cool brands. I ran it solo last year but i'm actually looking at entering as a team with some colleagues. Should be fun!

Best Obstacle Course Race!

These races are AMAZING! The races always go smoothly and my family and I always have a great time every time we head out to these races. Definitely worth every penny to be a part of this great event. Well organized and got right to the race without any problems. RECOMMEND to everyone and their families

I was excited when I came across the article below where City Challenge Race is ranked #1 above: Rugged Maniac, Spartan Race, Tough Mudder, Urban Mudder, MENS HEALTH Urbanathalon, and Urban Raid! This is definitely a must do race! I love jumping over the police cars!
