Let Down
My boys and I were really looking forward to this event. We figured that the course would be full of military-style training obstacles, but we were sadly disappointed. The biggest obstacle was the sand itself, which was not advertised as being the entire 8K course....too much. As for man-made obstacles, there were only a handful, and they were small and miles apart. Only one decent mud pit, and not a single climbing wall or net. The drink stops were too far apart and out of water or warm when we got there. The entry fee was way overpriced for a minimal mud run. It really should have been advertised as a beach/sand run. The Rugged Maniac, Dirty Dash, and Warrior Dash were all better in terms of obstacles. The scenery along this course was nice, and there is potential to do some cool obstacles if they hold future events. Do some cargo nets, barbed wire, tires, logs, barricades, etc., and make the course live up to the name and location.
