Course Description:
Climbing over walls, crossing rope bridges, and scampering up mud banks is very challenging. The fastest way through the course is to attack everything head-on, and even the fittest people will have some difficulty. But every obstacle has a bail out. If you need to walk around you will be asked to perform a physical task before you are allowed to continue. You do not need to be able to swim -- there is a lifeguard on duty and ropes to help you pull yourself through the lake obstacle. You also may choose to walk around the lake without penalty.
The longest running mud run in The Triangle is BACK for our 8th consecutive year. The Escape is a not-quite-5k obstacle course with 18 muddy obstacles and 4 treacherous zombie infested zones, where the hungry undead try to steal your “health” flags. If you’ve never raced with us, you don’t want to miss it. 50,000 gallons of water bring the mud to life. Great food, amazing live music, and the most spirited racers you’ve ever seen! Its “Killer Cardio” at its finest. This race will train you, challenge you, and bring out your inner conqueror!
Aid Stations:
There will be water stations scattered along the course. Paramedics will be on standby.
Spectators:
Spectator passes are $5; children under 12 may watch for free. There are designated areas where spectators are allowed to be.
Parking:
Parking is $10 per vehicle.
Post Party:
There will be live music from 10 am to 1 pm. We will have beer, BBQ, and beverages for sale.
Other:
There is a gear check station. There is a washing and changing station available as well. The race is not timed. There will be a race photographer on site and all photos will be posted on our Facebook page.
Team:
You can choose to race solo, on a team of 4, or in the family wave (if you have a child that wants to race and is younger than 12).
