Race Start Time:
Check-in begins at 7:00 am with the initial wave launching at 8:00 am and the final wave launching at 2:00 pm
This year, waves are limited to 25 people and each wave will be further split up at the Start Line with groups of 5-8 people going off every 5 minutes to allow for distancing

Course Description:
The Gauntlet will be held entirely on the 400-acre Wallingford campus of Gaylord Specialty Healthcare.
The 5K obstacle course is designed to benefit adaptive athletes and the Gaylord Sports Association. The event features 24 obstacles and is designed to be a fun challenge for everyone. The course is not built to be ""accessible,"" and all racers utilize the same obstacles. For adaptive athletes who feel they might need assistance, we recommend forming a team that can do the race with you and make it more fun!
The course offers a blend of wooded trail and open field running with 24 natural and man-made obstacles along the way to test an athlete’s strength and endurance. Mud will be used sparingly and upper body strength will be featured in some obstacles including a rock wall climb and vine swings

Volunteer aids will be at each station
Spectators:
No spectators due to COVID-19
Parking:
Free parking on site
Post Party:
None due to COVID-19. Food trucks will be available for runners.
Other:
Proceeds from this event will support the Gaylord Sports Association which offers adaptive sports and recreation programs to adults with physical disabilities and visual impairments at little- to no-cost as well as other mission critical programs within the hospital.
Team:
Teams of no more than five (5) as a way to share the experience and provide assistance to others during the obstacles, but to also maintain social distancing on the course.
Kids Race:
Racers must be at least 12 years old and accompanied by an adult if less than 18.
Due to Covid restrictions there will not be a children’s obstacle this year.
