Course Description:
The Battlefrog Obstacle Race and Festival saddles up for Dallas April 11th and 12th, 2015. Beautiful Beaumont Ranch will host a unique round-up of obstacles for you to wrangle. Located along the iconic Chislholm Trail, our ranch course will combine 800 acres of rolling hills and open ranges. We will turn you loose on challenges that combine a Texas sense of big with a SEAL sense of bad. Our course in Grandview is 45 miles southwest from Dallas and just over two hours from Austin on Interstate 35. We have plenty of on-site parking and the area offers a variety of overnight accommodations. When the race is done at the end of the train, you and your whole family can enjoy the activities at the festival “compound,” unique and exciting Navy SEAL displays, activities and live-action demonstrations.
BattleFrog courses are comprised of exciting obstacles in water, air and land, as well as “Boot Camp” military-inspired fitness exercises (such as mountain climbers, push-ups, jumping jacks, and burpees).
There will be mud, running, climbing, swinging, crawling jumping and swimming that will challenge your strength, endurance and motivation. Our courses are designed to test your body, mind and spirit, regardless of your fitness and experience level, in an endurance race unlike any other.
Our courses are tributes to the Navy SEALS and all those who have served and continue to serve in harm’s way. Each obstacle is unique in its name and design to honor the SEAL community. Like SEAL training and operations, though well planned there is always an element of the unknown, so the courses incorporate mystery obstacles that will not be announced ahead of time. This element of surprise means your training must be versatile to prepare for the unexpected, in the ultimate test of your physical ability and mental determination.
Course options:
Battlefrog 15k - Our signature 15K event with 25+ seal-inspired obstacles
Our namesake race is an intense course of approximately 15k in length, including a minimum of 25 of our signature SEAL-inspired obstacles. The BattleFrog course will be a combination of a timed race for serious athletes, as well as standard heats, meant to encourage teamwork and foster the spirit of cooperation among participants. This race is designed to be completed as a team or individually.
SEALs instill the values of teamwork and the buddy system. You will need this for some of the obstacles whether you plan on entering as a team or single participant. Remember you are only as fast as your slowest teammate. You may also encounter positive motivation by real Navy SEALS and other Spec Warfare members throughout the course.
Bullfrog 5k - A shorter 5K event with 15+ seal-inspired obstacles
The BullFrog is a great introduction to the sport of obstacle racing! A shorter version of the BattleFrog, this approximately 5k course includes a minimum of 15 of the same demanding SEAL-inspired obstacles as the longer BattleFrog race, as well as “Boot Camp” our military-inspired fitness exercises. Racers will be challenged by obstacles including climbs over various height walls, rope climbs and swings, mud crawls, swims and other tests of strength and stamina.
Tadpole Jr - 4-6 years old
For children ages 4 through 6, the TadPole Jr race includes a 200 meter dash followed by a series of fun obstacles that are just their size. This exciting adventure will offer mini obstacles such as wall climbs, mud crawls, and rope hurdles, as well as Kid’s “Boot Camp” exercises. Parents will accompany their child through the course and mud pit. There is no extra cost for the parent.
Tadpole - 7-13 years old
For participants ages 7 through 13, the TadPole race includes a 1k run with a series of fun obstacles that are just challenging enough for this age group. This exciting adventure will offer obstacles such as wall and cargo climbs, hay bales, mud crawls and rope hurdles, as well as Kid’s “Boot Camp” exercises.
