Course Description:
Your challenge will start with a 4km run followed by a 1km 25-strong obstacle course, which is challenging, enjoyable and achievable by all abilities. You can test how quick your feet are with a tyre run, your upper body strength with a 6ft wall climb, your grip with incline monkey bars and your coordination with a vertical cargo net climb – to name a few. New for 2018 are two junior races, for those aged 8-11 and 12-15. The children’s events will start with a 1km run followed by the obstacle course; youngsters can also complete the course in medieval-themed fancy dress if they wish.
Aid Stations:
First aid and marshals will be on site.
Prizes:
Those who finish in the top 10 per cent receive free entry to next year's event.
Spectators:
Spectators are welcome.
Parking:
FREE Parking! Car parking will be available at The Playground, and will be signposted from the road. Where possible we ask you to car share to the event. Please also be aware that the entrance to The Playground is narrow and there will be pedestrians and participants using this entrance for the run.
Other:
The minimum age for participants in the adult waves is 16. Anyone aged under 18 must have signed parental consent. There is no upper age limit. NEW FOR 2018 – There will also be two junior races, one for 8-11 year-olds and another for 12-15 year-olds.
We cannot accept sign-ups on the day. The safety of our participants is very important and we need personal details and emergency contact numbers in advance of the event date.
Battle of the Knights is open to all and you can choose to run and race, or run and walk. You will need to be fit enough to get round the 4km route, and to have a go at the obstacles. It is possible to have a go at The Playground prior to the event.
If you would like to volunteer as a marshal, please do get in touch. We need a lot of help at this event in order to keep all our participants safe.
There are no showers on site and it is suggested that you bring a change of clothes and shoes and a towel with you for your return journey, and a bin bag to put your dirty items in.
There will be refreshments on sale on the site.
Although there is no minimum sponsorship amount required, participants are very welcome to raise money and if you need any sponsor forms, please do let us know.
