Course Description:
Albertans love getting down and dirty – and Mud Hero’s location at Canyon Ski Resort just outside Red Deer won’t disappoint! Just 1 hour, 40 minutes north of Calgary, and 1 hour, 50 minutes south of Edmonton, Canyon Ski Resort features hills, mud, water and plenty of challenging terrain for an unsurpassed event experience. Alberta’s favourite obstacle event makes an even bigger splash in 2014!
The 6 km course offers plenty of man-made and natural challenges including swamps, forests, steep hills, ponds and embankments. Our 16 plus obstacles include our Superhero Cargo Climb, Mud Slide, Hero Walls, Firehall Wall Slide, Demolition Derby, Light and Tunnels End, Balance Beam, Dirtilicious Mud Crawl and our brand new Kong!
Aid Stations:
2 water stations on course, 1 at the finish line with water, Muscle Milk will also be provided at the end
We have a minimum of 8 first aiders at each Mud Hero event.
Prizes:
Prizes for top charity earners.
Spectators:
Free !Mud Hero encourages spectators by providing easy, no-charge access and great vistas to view the course.
Parking:
$10 per car - car pooling recommended
Post Party:
DJs, Great Food, Beer and Entertainment.
Our post party is right in the middle of the action so you can watch participants finish.
Other:
We help raise money for local cancer charities. The minimum age to participate is 15. You don't have to be able to swim to participate. We also have showers and bag check after the end of the events.
Team:
Welcome to race as a team, sign up with your team name and have it listed. However, everyone is timed individually. There is a $5 discount for teams of 10 or more.
