Course Description:
Choose from 7km or 12km course distances over ultra-gritty, properly muddy, obstacle-loaded farmland set in the heart of the Secret Bunker Estate, Essex.
Your wave will be made up of 7 & 12k runners. You will run together until 7k where 12k runners will split. There’ll be warning signs, arrows and a Nuclear marshal at the split to guide you.
There are 90+ obstacles on the 12k, 50+ on the 7k courses. Attempt as many or as few obstacles as you like – it’s your challenge! There are no penalties.
We will start clearing the 7 & 12k Rush courses from 5pm onwards (last runner 1st).
FOR OCRWC QUALIFERS ONLY: Qualifying results are taken on an individual day basis not across the weekend.
Saturday Qualifiers: due to the multiple starts the first racer over the line may not be the first qualifier.
Bibs will be worn in all qualifying waves, obstacles are mandatory. There will be a cut-off and bibs removed from all qualifying racers after 3 and 3/4 hours. Qualifying racers must be aware the main Rush event will be ongoing and after two & a half hours racers are more likely to experience traffic & non competitive runners.
Aid Stations:
At least 2 or more water stations on every course. Medic teams will roam the course in 4x4 vehicles and are also stationed at in race village. Water safety teams are in the lake zone water. Buoyancy vests available. Drink at the finish line
Spectators:
Entry to race-village £3. Spectators have access to approx 15 obstacles in and just around the race village/start/finish in designated areas
Parking:
Spectators have free parking in grass field next to race village.
Post Party:
Race village has a festival atmosphere, live music, good food options including vegetarian, bar, children's entertainment, shops, medal engraving, finish line obstacles, mc startline.

You don't need to be able to swim to take part at Nuclear, there are buoyancy vests which can be worn for non swimmers & water safety crew in lake water at all times.
Leave a bag (1 per person) before your race & collect it at the finish zone after the wash-down. Bring clean dry clothes/keys & a bit of money in your bag for afterwards. The large bag-drop is free & staffed. Please use it at your own risk.
Kids Race: Nuclear Rookies are fun, pumped-up muddy obstacle courses for 4-14 year old kids of any fitness level
Rookies can test their skills on a specially designed fun 1.5/3km course filled with around 20 kid’s sized & guaranteed Nuclear M.U.D! Rookies will climb in & out of the muddiest ditches, scrabble under cargo nets, crawl through tyre tunnels, over ramps, walls & monkey-bars as well as running in woods, on paths & open fields.
Rookies 4-8 years of age complete one lap of the 1.5km course. 9-14 year old Rookies complete the 1.5km lap twice (3km). A grown-up of 4-7 year old’s must accompany their child on the course (free of charge & registered at time of booking). Older (9yrs+) & younger children (4-8yrs) can now race in the same wave together.
ETIQUETTE: Float alongside & step in with help over obstacles if the child needs it, but stepping back from the course, so it’s clear for other participants.
THE VIBE: There’s no pressure to complete the obstacles – we want Rookie obstacle racers to grow in confidence from their experience. Team-work is actively encouraged at Nuclear, it’s not all about winning; helping each other achieve is just as important. Every Rookie has the opportunity to download a personalised Rookie certificate post-race.
Team:
There are no official teams, you can race indivdually or as a team (10 or more receive a discount). Sign up using the team option at time of booking.
