Race Start Time:
The first heat begins at 10am. The last heat will be at 1pm or longer if additional heats are needed. There will be a 30 minute break between each heat. Each heat will contain 50-75 people.

Course Description:
It is a 5K OBSTACLE COURSE RACE that courses through the Rocky Mount Sports complex and the E.B. Grain Company property. It comes complete with a MUD PIT and 10+ OBSTACLES to overcome. The course will range from asphalt, to grass, to mud, to climbing rocks, to running through the woods.
Aid Stations:
There will be paramedics at the site on standby. We will also have a first aid tent set up at the festival area.
Spectators:
Tackle the Tar is a 5k obstacle course race and family fun day. There will be live entertainment throughout the day, food trucks and beer/wine sales. The spectators are free!
Parking:
$5 per vehicle. The parking lot is within walking distance to the course area.
Post Party:
There will be live entertainment and DJs throughout the entire day. We will have a food truck rodeo and beer/wine sales.
Other:
RUN FOR A GOOD CAUSE since proceeds from Tackle the Tar will be used to fund scholarships for youth in our area. Run with the idea that you’re sending kids to camp and other kids to college. TTT is hosted by the Rocky Mount Rotary Club.
Team:
Tackle the Tar welcomes teams. However, this is not a team event.
