Race Start Time:
Registration opens at 8am and the first wave launches at 9am. We have participated in runs where bottlenecks occur at obstacles and that is terrible. Our waves go off every ten minutes and we deliberately keep wave participant numbers small to allow for smooth course flow form start to finish. Our last heat of the day typically starts at 4pm.

Course Description:
Hill Ridge Farms is hosting the Big Muddy Challenge. Our two mile course is designed for parents to run with their children and friends. This is not a playground or quick dash. We have scaled the obstacles and mud to allow families to complete this challenge together. And no need to concern about Hill Ridge Farms beautifully manicured property. We are bringing the mud in 2014 across 12 professionally built obstacles! Now you have a different answer to... What did you family do last weekend?
Aid Stations:
There is a first aid station clearly marked on each course and we have paramedics on bikes patrolling the course all day long. At the halfway point (one mile in) we have a rest area with water and restrooms.
At the finish line there are refreshments (fluid and solid nourishment).
Spectators:
Spectators are free - for each course we build some designated areas to observe the race. These areas vary by venue and for safety purposes BMC staff politely enforces these boundaries.
Parking:
Parking is ample on the farm and we do encourage carpooling. Parking is $5 per car - cash.
Post Party:
The finisher area will be a great place to reunite with family and friends to enjoy the festival.
Other:
The Big Muddy Challenge is the only mud run specifically designed for children ages 6 to 12 and their parents. This is very different than a kids fun run or dash which is forgotten about quickly and parents act as spectators. Proceeds are shared with the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization.
