Course Description:
This is a 5k race (often more) with multiple obstacles and mud pits including water slides, kayaking, archery, rope swings, mud pits, water pits, wood walls, wood ramps, monkey bars, very short swims, and running. The race takes place on a rodeo/fairgrounds, and much of the on-site structures are used in the race---the arena (over a foot deep in mud for the race), the chutes, alleyways, stadium steps, barn, etc. The location borders a lake, and the lake is used for the kayaking, swimming, etc. portions of the race.
Aid Stations:
Paramedics on standby, no aid stations available, water available for purchase or via garden hose. Race stewards all over the course for aid if needed.
Prizes:
Occasionally have 'door prizes' coupons to local businesses.
Spectators:
Spectators are free, roaming with permission only. Stadium seating allows viewing of 10-12 obstacles in the arena

Parking is ample and free
Other:
There is no penalty for skipping or failing an obstacle. Completion of some obstacles allows a racer to avoid a mud pit/pool, and some require plunging into the pit.
ALL proceeds from race entrants go to the Boys and Girls Club of the Flathead Reservation and Lake county (we have two clubs this race supports).
This is a 'low budget' mud run and obstacle course. Entrants from both coasts have commented this was the best part of their visit to Montana. We have repeat racers from both coasts, although most of our racers are local. Racers from Seattle have commented that this race was better and more fun/challenging than the Spartan or Tough Mudder races they entered.
Our typical draw is only 150 runners or less. Help us get that to 300-500 and make this a true destination event!!!
Team:
We encourage teams (businesses, h.s. sports teams, church groups, etc. to enter and challenge other teams to friendly wagers---losers help with de-construction of course, buy winning team lunch, donate add'l funds to the Boys and Girls club, etc.). I've been organizing this race for 5 years now, and the team that had the most fun and was most enjoyable to watch was a local h.s. wrestling team that demolished the course, but were certainly spent after the race.
