Course Description:
The seven mile mud run course winds its way up, down and through some of the most challenging terrain in Pennsylvania.
If you are ready to tackle the Laurel Highlands, Mud on the Mountain is
the event for you. Join scores of others as you test what you are made
of on the slopes at Seven Springs Mountain Resort, the largest ski and
four season resort in Pennsylvania. Across more than seven miles of
body-breaking terrain you will traverse ponds, scale boulder fields,
climb your way over obstacles and claw your way up impossible inclines,
all on your way to a triumphant finish.
We are going to add some more great obstacles to the November version of
Mud on the Mountain and we are going to add more MUD to everything. We
plan to offer more than 20 chances for you to test your strength and
get filthy in the process. Details to come.
Prizes:
There are no prizes, just bragging rights and camaraderie with the runners in your heat.
Spectators:
$10. Spectator passes will be for sale at the registration, allowing family members, friends and spectators to travel to the top of the course via the chair lifts. Passes are $10 each are are valid for either the Polar Bear Express or Cortina chairlifts.
Parking:
We have parking for thousands of cars on the mountain. Help the environment, and help ease the congestion on the mountain, by riding with a friend. If you are staying with us on the mountain you will have reserved parking near the hotel.
Post Party:
After pushing your body to its limits, you will need to celebrate your accomplishments and unwind. Stick around after the event for the Recovery Party at the Foggy Goggle! Trade battle stories with your comrades, show off your battle wounds and enjoy the cold beverages and live entertainment!
Popular Pittsburgh based DJ Zimmie will get you off to a rocking start at the starting line ready for a hard charge up the mountain. In the evening, DJ Zimmie will be rocking the Matterhorn.
Other:
You have to be at least 18 years of age to participate
Are you participating in or thinking about signing-up for Mud on the
Mountain but you don't know what to do with your children for a few
hours? Look no further than our Kids' Corner! We'll keep the little ones
entertained with games, crafts, activities and more while you are out
taking on our course. Kids' Corner is open to children walking age
through age 5 and reservations are required. Please call 800-452-2223,
ext. 7781 or email daycamps@7springs.com for more information or to make reservations.
No need to worry about where to stash your dry clothes or your camera
while you are slogging though the toughest seven miles of your life. We
will keep your stuff nice and dry in our bag check area.
Only one obstacle has water deep enough that it MAY require swimming. We
will have life preservers that can be used there if a competitor feels
that they need it. There will be certified lifeguards on duty at all
water locations.
It an adventure event. The challenge is finishing, not winning.
We will have a place near the finish line where you can hose off after
you finish. While the facilities are basic, they are sure to help you
from looking like a mud monster all day.
We love pets too, just not the event grounds, so please leave Snoopy at home.
