Start times will be announced a month or so before the race. For 2016, elite males started at 8:00am, elite women at 8:30am, with age groups starting every 30 minutes from 9:00am

In the event of cancellation by OCRWC organizers, participants will be issued with a full refund of their registration fee. Refunds are not provided otherwise.
Registered athletes unable to compete due to injury may defer their spot to the following year. The following year’s registration fee is not waived in these instances.
The OCR World Championships are intended to be a competition between the best obstacle course racers in their respective divisions. As such, transfers of race entries are strictly prohibited. Athletes found to be in violation of this policy may be banned from the World Championship and future OCRWC competitions.
Athletes must qualify at a 2020 event. Refunds are not availabilty if an athlete fails to qualify

Course Description:

An exciting, fast and furious course to play out right in front of an energetic audience - not a “Ninja Warrior” experience and instead a unique OCRWC spin on super-spring and head-to-head obstacle courses. This time trial format race puts your fitness to the test with 100 meters of back-to-back obstacles. No qualification necessary.

Two attemps per registration. Top 8 times in each division advance to semi-finals on Sunday. Top 2 in each division from semi-finals advance to a head-to-head finals on Sunday.

The premiere event of the obstacle course racing (OCR) season will bring a truly global obstacle racing experience to the North American countryside. The sixth year of the event will celebrate the best professional and age group competitors from around the world with athletes from over sixty-five nations expected to participate.

Race weekend will feature a 3K Short Course Championships on Friday, 15K Standard Distance on Saturday, and Team Relay Competition on Sunday, each showcasing the best racers from around the world.

Expect around 5 aid stations on the course

Awards:

Cash/prizes are awarded to the top three male and female athletes in each individual division (Elite and Age Groups). In team competitions, cash/prizes are awarded to the top male, female, and co-ed teams. For 2016, the top elite women and male were award $10,000 each, and the winner of each age group division was awarded $1,000. There was also prize money for 2nd and 3rd place in each category.

Competition at the OCR World Championships is broken down into the following divisions:
Individual Competition (Elite) 15K & 3K

Individual Competition (Age Group) for 15K
  • Male: 13-17, 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50+
  • Female: 13-17, 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50+
Individual Competition (Age Group) for 3K
  • Male: 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50+
  • Female: 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50+
Journeymen & Journeywomen for 15K & 3K
The Journeyman & Journeywoman Divisions are exclusive waves reserved for the most passionate Obstacle Course Racers. There are no finishing results requirement (i.e. third in your age group) to compete in this wave. Instead, athletes are required to complete ANY four obstacle course races between October 17, 2017 and October 6, 2018. Non-cash prizes are awarded for the winners of these divisions. Space in these waves are strictly limited

Post Party:

Hang around in the festival area after the race and cheer on your fellow competitors. There will be vendors booth, food vendors, and great views of some of the most exciting obstacles.

Other:

All OCRWC participants must qualify for the event by meeting the criteria outlined below at ONE of these 2020 races. Athletes are required to submit proof of results at the time of registration. For full qualification criteria, see here, but at the time of publication, included a certain placing at the following races: Spartan Race, Savage Race, Toughest Mudder, True Grit Series, Nuclear Races, and many more

Participants may also qualify under the Journeyman/woman exemption.
