Course Description:
Saturday's Beast is the World Championship Race!
For the first time in Spartan history, the Reebok Spartan Race World Championship will take place at the legendary Squaw Valley. Located a short ride from Lake Tahoe, this epic venue was once host to the 1960 Olympic Winter Games. The world's best athletes will collide on the course with a shared goal: to be the Spartan Race World Champion.
Racers should plan to bring a headlamp and appropriate fuel for their needs. No fuel will be provided on course, only water. Hydration packs (or water containers of some variety) are strongly suggested for all racers.
The most anticipated obstacle racing weekend of the year will feature three Spartan Race distances to choose from over two days of racing: The Spartan Beast, the Spartan Ultra Beast and the Spartan Sprint. Which challenge are you ready to accept?
Aid Stations:
3-4 aid stations on course with water, maybe some other goodies. We’ll finalize this as we get closer to race day. All racers should carry extra water and energy sources as this course will be very challenging.

How to Qualify for the Spartan Race World Championship
To Qualify, you have to earn a Spartan Coin at any race from January 1st to September 27th. There are 4 ways to do so
- The Top 5 racers in the Men's and the Top 5 in the Women's Elite Heat at any US event, who do not already have a coin, will earn a coin.
- The Top 10 Male and Top 10 Females in the Elite Heat of ANY International event will earn a coin.
- The Top 50 racers in US Elite Point Series standings (the main standings not the Stadium series) after the last event before Tahoe will earn a coin.
- Top Athletes from across the world will be invited by Spartan. We are talking Olympic gold medalists...winning your local 5K will not count.
All coins will be distributed at the completion of each qualifying event, during the awards ceremony.

How does it work?
Create a team or join a team! The more people on a team, the more money everyone will get back in their pocket! Each team member will receive a discount, refunded to the method of payment used, a few days prior to race day. The discount escalates as the team size increases, so get more friends to join your team and everyone saves more money!
How many people are needed to make a team?
Teams are unlimited with a minimum of four people! Team members are timed individually and are not required to cross the finish line together.
Which team takes home the prizes?
The fastest 4 times of the team will be used to calculate the team's finishing time. Prizes will be awarded to the team who finishes on top!
