Race Start Time:

The kids’ race starts at 9:00am followed by their awards.
Starting at 10am, heats for the individual competitors and teams of two and four will depart the starting line every 15 minutes.

100 Acre Challenge We had so much fun last year, we’re doing it again!

The annual 100 Acre Challenge is an obstacle 5K race set in the 100 Acre Wood in Intervale, NH. Competitors will run, swim, crawl, and climb as this 5K challenge takes them into the mud, water, over walls, rock piles and through the wood. It's all in fun and for a good cause with net proceeds benefiting the fundraising campaign for a new Outreach van for the Believe in Books Literacy Foundation. Individuals and teams of two or four are invited and for kids 12 and under there is the Mini Acre Challenge featuring mini obstacles.

Course Description:

A 5K adventure obstacle race that we thought might be exciting in September when the weather could be a challenge in itself. Competitors will run, swim, crawl and climb as this 5K challenge takes them into the mud, water, over walls, rock piles and through the wood. We don't give out details of the obstacles ahead of time to keep it even more challenging. There are over 20 obstacles and we change them each year!

Aid Stations:

We have Aid and water stations throughout the course as well as staff and volunteers at every obstacle. We have EMT's on the course and at the finish line. Food, fruit, water and beer at the finish line!

Awards:

There is an awards ceremony for the Mini Challenge right after the Kids Race. After the 100 Acre Challenge we do have an awards ceremony for the top three individuals (male and female), top 3 teams of 2 and top 3 teams of 4.

Prizes:

Prizes for best costume too!

Spectators:

Free! Spectators can watch at the Start/Finish line and at various obstacles on the course and everyone is welcome at the After Party. Beer, drinks and food are available for purchase for spectators.

Parking:

Parking is free.

Post Party:

Post Party includes beer, food from local restaurants, vendors and a great local band!

Other:

This is a great event for all ages, families and tough competitors! All proceeds will go towards the purchase of a new Outreach Van for our literacy programs that serve children and families in Northern NH and Western Maine.
