Course Description:

Nuclear Blackout Night Run is an untimed, 5km, x-country course over open fields, woodland, lakes, tracks, ditches, river crossings, hills & through the underground Brentwood Secret Bunker. Nuclear Blackout will take you to the edge with endless obstacles on undulating Essex farmland in near darkness. It's designed to test your endurance in difficult conditions, fill you with adrenaline & make you work as a team or build your resilience & determination to finish it on your own. For the first time, 2014 will see part of the course run underground, through the 30 metre deep, 3 storey, Kelvedon Hatch Secret Nuclear Bunker, which not only has a lot of history, but also corridors, tunnels, steps, 3 metre thick walls & a deadly silent atmosphere. Duration: 2 hours, most laps wins. Expect: a minimum of 13 obstacles; trenches, wades, tunnels, walls, steps & stairs, ramps, pits, climbs, mud crawls, swings, jumps, monkey bars, tyres, cargo nets, compost hills, monkeybars, straw stacks etc.

Nuclear Blackout is untimed. You do not have to be able to swim, you will be entering water, but will not be submerged.
The Secret Nuclear Bunker is open othe public daily. It has never before been used in a running event. It is a unique experience to be running 30 metres underground as well as over undulating muddy terrain overground.
