Rise Up Challenge The Rise Up Challenge (RUC); which stands for Resistance, Integrity, Strength and Endurance, is a one of a kind event in the heart of the city, pairing obstacle course racing (OCR), trail running and a dash of orienteering to create a unique experience. RUC will play off your physical and mental strengths (and weaknesses) to help redefine your limits and push you to new heights! Each event focuses on utilizing the obstacles and roadblocks found within the city, nature and the surrounding environment to not only challenge you individually, but in some cases, require you to work together to succeed. With each option, Finisher’s will receive a Medal, Race Patch and an experience they won’t soon forget. Although they are different in distance, each RUC will provide challenge that will push your limits! At the end of the day, the question isn’t IF you will do a RUC, but HOW FAR do you want to push yourself and #RedefineYourLimits when you join us for a race.

Course Description:

The course will flow along the natural trails and landscape of the alberta backwoods and river valley and will be peppered with many challenging obstacles. You may be swinging through the trees, jumping across creeks, climbing up stairs, or helping friends over roadblocks. Enjoy it, make memories and get a great workout in!
Choose from a short course (5+ Km), long course (15+ Km), or virtual course to experience Rise Up the way that fits you best. To align with Alberta Health Services measures, we will not be adding obstacles to our course this year, to eliminate physical contact. In-lieu of obstacles we will have 10+ pit stops set up at every mile marker to challenge your endurance in new ways.
The course will be tough but will be filled with sunshine, smiles, laughs and fresh air. This is the perfect opportunity to give your mind, body and soul health a big dose of medicine by getting outdoors and getting the trails beneath your feet in a safe and adventurous environment.

Aid Stations:

There will be Contactless water stations setup with hand sanitizer throughout the course.

Spectators are FREE

Parking:

There will be FREE parking available nearby the registration area and start line.

Team:

Teams of 10 or more receive 10% discount

Kids Race:

We encourage kids (ages 10 – 18) to participate with their parents or guardians to make the event a family-fun experience.
