Race Start Time:

First heat starts at 8am with the Elite heats. Heats go every 30 minutes to make sure there is enough separation on the course between heats so to limit bunching up.

Thunder Challenge The Thunder Challenge is a 5k and 10k event series designed, owned, and operated by US Military Veterans. Our goal is to provide everyone with something that will be fun and challenging at the same time no matter your experience or fitness level.

We offer competitive heats for those under 18 in the 5k event series and for those Elite Pro Racers we have competitive heats in the 10k category as well. Everyone can run and everyone should come find out if they are Thunder Tough!

Course Description:

Course is a combo of hills and flat terrain. Participants will encounter 20-25 obstacles that range from simple bucket carries, to monkey bars, mud crawls, and some signature obstacles both fun and challenging.

Aid Stations:

Aid stations and paramedics will be on course as well as water and fruit at the end for those who crawl across the finish line.

Awards:

Elite racers in the 5k kids competitive heat will get a plaque or trophy depending on their placing in the top 3.

Adult Elites will compete for a share of a cash purse with the winner in each male and female category earning the Hammer of Thor. That is if you can carry it home after the race.

Prizes:

Prizes for biggest team at the event!

Spectators:

Spectators are welcome and encouraged to come at no required cost. There is a suggested donation of $5.

Parking:

Parking will be available at different costs depending on shuttle use or limited VIP parking.

Other:

The Thunder Challenge gives back to two different charities. Part of our overall intake will go to Project Sanctuary which helps families after loved ones from military return home. We also run Warrior Waves where $10 of each ticket sale goes to Operation Enduring Warrior which helps individuals returning home from overseas.

There will be bag check available. There will also be limited number of VIP on site packages as well as off site camping packages that include showers, food discounts, and event the opportunity to hang out with Thunder Challenge staff and watch movies outside in the camp area.
