Course Description:
The course winds its way over the hills of Deansboro. The DBM is not a typical “Mud Run” or a Running Race. Having a mud pit and simply getting you dirty isn't enough. Our goal is to combine unique obstacles and challenges, along with running or walking. Our Mudfest features a 5K, 5-miled timed race and a 1/2 mile, 1/2 pint kids' course.
The 5K course is tough for those who like a challenge and can be enjoyed thoroughly with friends or a team as a nice hike with obstacles. The 5K obstacles are Gravity Cavity and Meat Grinder, tough up and down hills, we call these nature's obstacles. The Walls feature 5 and 7 foot walls that may require a push from a friend, and then the Monkey bars, and Kick in the Pants. Kick in the Pants, is an up and down, holy cow that will have you reaching for moor (:)) Gut check has you navigating through a series of tires, and Belly Crawl forces you under the wire into a nice river of mud!
Shawshank is a series of tubes flowin' like a muddy river.You finish out the course with Paul Bunyan's Cabin. Find out what your balancing skills are like as you tread across a slippery log teetering over dumpsters.
Aid Stations:
There are paramedics on the course and there are water stations on the course.
Awards:
We have an awards ceremony for our 5-mile timed finishers!
Spectators:
Spectators are free and can walk or be bused to obstacles and are welcome to the post-race party. The 'moor' the merrier!
Parking:
Parking is $5 per car. Parking is adjacent to the start line. No need to bus, the walk is quick!
Post Party:
The post-race party is the best around! Our party features 4 bands from Connecticut and New York. There will be local BBQ, Utica greens and chicken riggies.
Other:
Our minimum age for our 5K is 13 unless running with family. There is an awesome 1/2 mile, 1/2 pint kids' run that kids enjoy with families or with their teams or friends. Our 5-mile race is the only timed race.
Our entire proceeds will benefit charity. Last year we gave away more than $50,000 to charity.
Team:
We have teams and you can register accordingly on our site, or your can register alone! We do not offer team discounts. There is no special scoring for teams. No minimum or maximum for teams!
