Race Start Time:
First wave starts at 9AM with the last wave starting at 1PM.
Our waves kick off every 1/2 hour and the max allowed per wave is 100 runners. This allows the runners to spread out and limit the amount of congestion on the trails making a very safe environment.

Course Description:
Xtreme Muck Ruck course is comprised of open trails, wooded trails, sand, dirt, gravel, small slopes to big sand hills, water holes and mud holes making this event boast a wide variety of terrain. Xtreme Muck Ruck offers a 2 mile beginner, 4 mile intermediate, 7 mile advanced course or do all three for a total of 13 XTREME miles and become a member of Club 247.
XMR offers both man made obstacles and natural obstacles. XMR's obstacles will have you doing some or all of the mentioned pending on what course you choose to run. Climbing walls, crawling under extra low barbed wire, traversing tires, crossing water bridges, climbing and jumping over barrels in knee deep mud, running through the Bug Zapper, monkey bars, climbing rope, inverted walls, mud pits, rope ladders, tunnels, elevated balance beams, 400' slip n slide, climbing over elevated logs, peg walls, net tunnels in addition to doing physical challenges throughout the course.
Aid Stations:
Fire and Ambulance crew on site in addition to 2 paramedics roaming the course on ATV.
All emergency personnel are equipped with first aid items and radios for communication purposes.
XMR supply multiple water stations throughout the course in addition to having bananas and other snack items available on the 4 mile and the 7 mile course.
All participants get water and bananas at the finish line.
Spectators:
All spectators are free to our event. XMR provides course maps on race day so spectators can choose to venture out on course to take photos of their family and or friends.
Spectators can also enjoy the music, food tent and beverage tent on site.
Parking:
XMR charges $20 per vehicle regardless as to how many people are in the vehicle. Our parking area is with in 100-150 yards of the registration tent. Car pooling is recommended but it is not necessary as we have plenty of parking area to accommodate both runners and spectators.
Post Party:
XMR offers all day music, hot food at the food tent, cold drinks including beer at the beverage tent and a variety of vendors on site on race day.
Other:
XMR offers kids courses for kids from 5-8 years of age and then from 9-13 years of age. Cost is only $10 per child.
XMR supports Building Homes for Our Troops and also donates to local charities in the Northern Michigan area. All donations are determined after the event and based on proceeds collected.
XMR does not time our event as we believe our event is a challenge rather than a race. Most participants are happy just knowing they were able to cross the finish line.
XMR offers both cold and hot water rinse stations. Cold water stations can be viewed by the public in an open area. The hot water stations are closed off offering privacy so people can rinse off with out being seen by the public.
XMR offers weekend camping at rates of $40 for tents and $60 for RV camping. The rates are for the weekend regardless if you stay Friday and or Saturday nights. All campers and volunteers receive a free meal on Friday night.
All participants must sign a waiver of liability and must be at least 14 years of age to run our main course.
Team:
XMR encourages groups of people to sign up as a team. It is better to run with partners than by yourself. XMR does offer a team discount with teams of 10 or more if that team is sponsored by a corporation (Typically their employer, for example last season we had Team REMAX on site. REMAX paid for their entire team to run and in return received a team discount) All corporate teams must contact us prior to registration to receive a promotion code allowing them to sign up at the discounted rate of only $55 per person rather than the $85 per person.
