Race Start Time:

The first heat of the competitive division will start at 9:00AM, and then approximately every 3 minutes after that. Once the competitive division has completed the course, the non-competitive division will start (around 10:00AM). Exact heat times will be emailed to all participants on September 22nd for those who have registered.

Superhero Dash Runners from all over the Chicagoland region gather for the Superhero Dash every year. It is an annual event organized by Winnetka Park District, in partnership with IBJI Health Performance Institute. The obstacle course covers three miles and features a one-of-a-kind course along beautiful Lake Michigan. This race is great for athletes of all kinds - from serious runners, to weekend joggers, to families and children.

Course Description:

Are you Chicagoland’s next Superhero? Take part in the Superhero Dash to find out. Enjoy laughs, fun, thrills and spills as you work your way through the obstacles along the beaches of Lake Michigan. Come dressed as your favorite superhero or own creation of one.
During this three mile obstacle course you will climb walls and sand mounds, run up and down staircases and ramps, trudge your way through sand, swim in the lake, dodge through tires, belly crawl under rope, run with logs, and so much more.

Aid Stations:

There will be two water stations along the course. Certified CPR and lifeguard staff will be on standby during the race.

Prizes:

Prizes will be awarded to the top competitors. The best-dressed superhero will receive recognition and walk away with the official Superhero Dash Super Cape.

Spectators:

There’s no admission fee for spectators, so friends and family are encouraged and welcome to come and watch. Spectators can line up along the course to get a front row seat of the racers.

Parking:

Parking will be available at Elder Lane Park/Beach (299 Sheridan Road, Winnetka, IL 60093) and Tower Road Beach (899 Sheridan Road, Winnetka, IL 60093).

Post Party:

Stick around after the race for a celebration on the beach at Centennial Park (225 Sheridan Road, Winnetka, IL 60093). The celebration will include a medal ceremony for the winning competitors, and light food and beverages.

Other:

There will be two separate divisions, a competitive and family non-competitive division. The obstacle race is open to ages 12 and up. Participants under 15 must participate with a registered adult.
