Race Start Time:
Elite heat begins at 8:00am max of 200 participants.
Open heat begins at 9:00am and start every 15 minutes after the first heat max of 100 participants per heat.
Kids heat begins at 11:00am and start every 15 min after the first heat max of 100 participants per heat.

Course Description:
This is a family friendly adventure run through the trails of E.O. Wilson Park in Brewton Alabama. We will be using Burnt Corn Creek as the center piece for this obstacle course. Brewton was founded on the timber and rail industry and we have developed an obstacle course highlighting those industry's. We have plenty of natural obstacles, and technical trail running to test your abilities as a runner.
Come join us for the Burnt Corn Creek Run in Brewton, Alabama. We have developed a challenging 3 plus mile course through the unique terrain of O’Bannon park, E.O. Wilson park and Jennings park.
Runners will encounter plenty of natural obstacles and trails in South Alabama’s newest mud run. Runners will need endurance, strength, speed, agility and a great attitude to conquer the creek. This is a family-friendly mud run; we want everyone to get out and enjoy the beauty and adventures of Brewton.
Aid Stations:
We will have 2 aid stations on the course for runners. Paramedics will be on site along with doctors from Brewton Medical Center. The Medical Center Pharmacy will be on hand to help with any scrapes and bruises you might pick up along the way.
Pepsi of Atmore will be providing Gatorade, water and fruit at the finish line.
Awards:
The awards ceremony will begin at the conclusion of the kids race. Awards will be given to runners who participate in the elite race only. Overall male and female runners will receive cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. 1st = $300, 2nd = $200, 3rd = $100.
We will also have placement prizes for age divisions. Age divisions are (14 -19) (20 - 29) (30 - 39) (40 - 49) (50 - 59) (60 and up)
Prizes:
We will be offering prizes for best costume, muddiest person of the day, team with the best name.
Spectators:
We encourage all spectators to come watch your friends and family conquer the creek. There is no charge for spectators and there will several places on the course designed for spectators to view the race.
Parking:
Parking is free also we don't want to discourage anyone form coming out and enjoying the fun.
Post Party:
We have designed the start and finish lines to be located in the same area along with the band and DJ. Viewing areas will also be located at the start finish line. Food vendors will be on hand along with a full concession sold. The Alabama National Guard will be bringing their Gladiator pit for the kids and a rock climbing wall to test your abilities.
Other:
Burnt Corn Creek Run will be benefiting Backpack Buddies, and Paws Crossed Animal Rescue. These are two great local charities that really help our community.
Kids race is form age 6 through 12. Open race is for ages 13 and up.
You do not have to be able to swim to do this event.
We will be timing the Elite heat only.
Bring a change of clothes there will be a changing area and showers, O’Bannon wash hole will be the place to be.
No cleats or metal spikes may be worn on the course. Shoes or boots must be worn throughout the entire race.
There will be food vendors on site.
Please arrive at least 1 hour prior to your start time, so you will have ample time to get loose and run.
We are going to be on the creek so bring bug spray and sunscreen.
There will be a bag check if you need one cost will be $5.00 cash only. Nothing larger than a sports bag please.
Safety is our first and primary goal if the creek is to high due to heavy rain we will reschedule the run for August 4, 2018.
Absolutely no diving into the creek, or any mud pit head first.
Unlimited laps for the hard core that think 3.5 miles is a warm up!
