Race Start Time:
The Romp 5K Run/Walk check-in and registration opens at 8:00 am and the race begins at 9:00 am.
The Romp Mud Run registration opens at 8:00 am. Racers are asked to arrive 60 minutes before your wave starts. This allows you to park, shuttle to the check-in site, check-in, and do a pre-race warm up with Hoosier CrossFit owner, Shaun Tieman.
The Mud Run waves begin at 9:30am and run until the last wave at 2:00pm. Waves are roughly 20, 30 or 40 minutes apart throughout the day. Waves are no more than 70 people with most closer to 40 people.
The 9:30am and 11:00am waves are 'competitive' waves. This means you have done other mud runs and obstacle courses and are comfortable with most obstacles. You want to crank up the pace and see what you're made of, challenging yourself, competing with other racers, and going for a spot on the podium.
The 10:30am and 12:20pm waves are 'non-competitive' waves. This means you may want to take your time because you are running with people of varying skill levels or you are participating mainly to socialize with friends. You'll be taking on the course at your own pace and we'll be providing extra time before the next wave begins. This division is all about having fun and taking it slow.
All other waves are 'general' waves. Most people will fall in a 'general' wave. These waves are for everyone, whether or not you've done other mud runs and obstacle races before. You will take on each obstacle as it comes, but challenge yourself to do your best and complete the course successfully. You may not sprint through the course, but you'll try your best to get through it in a time you'll be proud of. Again, most people will want to sign-up for a 'general' wave.

Course Description:
The course for the Mud Run is about 2.5 miles long and includes roughly a dozen obstacles. The Mud Run goes through a natural area, therefore it will be natural, not man made, mud pits and ravines that you will be trudging through. It is hilly. There are gravel, mud, grass and paved paths that you will go on. There will be water obstacles in Lake Lemon (no higher than your waist) and wet obstacles such as a dumpster to wade through and a water slide. Other obstacles include an army crawl on the beach, a tire run/carry, wooden a-frames to climb over, a large wooden wall to get over, a rope pull up/down a ravine, a muddy tunnel to crawl through, and others. It is challenging, but easy enough for a novice to complete the course with success. All obstacles can be skipped if they are too difficult, but most people have been able to finish every obstacle.
For the Romp Mud Run, we urge you not to wear things you do not want to be ruined. Shoes will be ruined, and clothes can be stained. Please dress appropriately for the weather and temperature this time of year.
The 5K will also be hilly. It will take place on some grass, some trail (very little), some gravel and some pavement. It is a challenging 5K, but is not a trail run. There will be no need to climb. Anyone can participate in this as a walk or a run. The view on this course will be beautiful through the woods and hills of Southern Indiana out by Lake Lemon.
For both races, feel free to dress in costume to participate in the Halloween theme, although it is not at all required. Prizes will be given out for costumes.
Aid Stations:
We will have an aid station with paramedics on standby. There will be fruit & water at the finish line.
Awards:

Prizes:
Prizes will go the winners mentioned above, but also to people for the best costume, most funds raised, etc.
Spectators:
Spectators are FREE!! There will be plenty to do for the spectators - we will have music, food trucks, and entertainment such as a bounce house, blow-up kid obstacle course, and cornhole.
