Race Start Time:

7:30pm and every 30min until the last heat at midnight. If you would like to run with a group, please register for same heat time. Approx. 50 people per heat.

St. Clair Scramble 5K obstacle mud run built on some of the most unforgiving property in St. Clair County, AL. Riddled with the most diabolical obstacles we could think up, the Scramble is sure to test even the most elite of athletes. Don't let the threat of failure scare you! EVERY competitor that crosses the start gate will finish. Athletes will have the option to scale obstacles for their fitness level. You are sure to get your fill of rocks, hills and body wrenching obstacles.

This is a non-profit event with proceeds benefitting the Ian Harper Memorial Scholarship Fund. Ian was a close personal friend and graduate of St. Clair County High School. He was a State Champion wrestler and a lover of life and the outdoors. He was tragically taken from us May 13, 2007, but his legacy will forever live on. His parents, Johnnie and Rhonda Harper, established the Ian Harper Memorial Scholarship Fund in 2009 and have since given numerous scholarships to hardworking student athletes in the area.

Course Description:

If you think running at night seems crazy, try obstacle racing at night! St. Clair Scramble BLACKOUT is BACK for round 2 in 2013 and this time we're bringing the HEAT! This is no wimpy 5k with a few mud crawls. We are talking 3+ miles of rugged hills, 25 NEW obstacles, mud up to your waist and all after the sun goes down! Pack your headlights, glow in the dark accessories and running shoes, its gonna get messy! Heats start at 7:30pm and every 30min after until midnight. It's time to find out who's afraid of the dark...

Aid Stations:

There will be 2 water stations throughout course. Medical personnel will be at the race site. Fruit and water will be offered to participants at the finish line.

Awards:

This event will not be timed and there are no prizes or awards at this time. All finishers will receive a medal.

Spectators:

Spectators get in free and there will be viewing areas where they can see the obstacles.

Parking:

$10 per car at a remote lot that is well lit and secure. Buses will begin transporting around the clock starting at 6:30pm until all persons have left.

Post Party:

BLACKOUT will be a party atmosphere from start to finish. The DJ will keep everyone pumped up, along with a bonfire and football on the big screen! Food/beverage service will be onsite.

Other:

There will be bag check and shower stations on site. Please leave valuables at home. No minimum age, just have to be awesome!

Team:

No specific team registration. If you'd like to run as a group or team, please register for same heat time.
