Course Description:
For the first time ever, Spartan ventures outside of the US to host the 2020 Spartan World Championship amongst the culturally rich and visually intoxicating Moreeb Dunes, situated 250 km south west of the excursionist hotspot, Abu Dhabi.
From Abu Dhabi city's famous Corniche to the Oasis City of Al Ain and the massive dunes of Al Dhafra's Empty Quarter desert, culture, history and adventure are encapsulated in the emirate. Whether you crave water sports, need an adrenaline rush, or simply want to soak up some rays and enjoy shimmering turquoise water Abu Dhabi has you covered.
Soak up and embrace the friendly and noble culture that combines centuries of fascinating history with an incredibly modern and tolerant way of life. The Spartan World Championship festivities will include a myriad of local traditions and flavor, including local fare, cultural demonstrations, and some good ole fashion dune buggies.
If you’re looking to unleash your inner beast and go to places you never imaged, the Spartan Beast is perfect for you. With 12-14 miles and 30-35 obstacles between you and the finish line, the Spartan Beast will test everything you’re made of: your strength, your endurance, your resolve. The unpredictable terrain and Spartan Obstacles are masterfully designed to push you deep into your discomfort zone, and well past those self-imposed obstacles you once considered your limits. Beast mode: on.
Aid Stations:
3-4 aid stations on course with water, maybe some other goodies. We’ll finalize this as we get closer to race day. All racers should carry extra water and energy sources as this course will be very challenging.
Awards:
Team prize money TBD. Elite race with prize money is Friday night

Bring your friends and family to the race to watch you conquer obstacles, dominate the finish line and receive your medal!
Racers, your fans will motivate you over the wall and past the finish line. You wouldn’t believe how far a cheering section will go when you’re exhausted. Your fans will also enjoy music, raffles, entertainment, and festival challenges.
Most importantly, fans will receive a front row seat to watch racers from a safe, comfortable, and relatively mud-less (no promises) Spartan Race festival ground area! And, when it’s over, they receive muddy hugs from thrilled Spartan athletes. After all, what’s a sport without fans?

Open 8:00am to 5pm every race day, the expo will feature leading national sponsors with highly experiential activations and free swag, healthy and functional F&B brands sampling free foods and beverages, gyms and trainers to help you warm up and cool down, workout and OCR gear and accessories companies, and much more. Remember to bring cash or credit cards to take advantage of expo deals specific to Spartans!
Other:
Bag Check - Try and leave as much stuff as you can at home or in your car— but for the stuff you can't leave behind, or that you don't want covered in mud and water, we will have a secure place to check in your gear. You will get a wrist band to wear that matches the band we put on your bag so make sure you keep that safe.
There’s no dress code, per se, but you’ll be running in mud and water, climbing hills and mountains, crawling under barbed wire and jumping fire. So choose wisely my friends.
Professional event day photos will be posted on the event page 5-7 days after the event, FREE OF CHARGE! You don’t have to stay up all night checking the site for this – we’ll email you when your photos are ready
Arrive an hour and a half before your start time. This gives you plenty of time to park, pick up your packet, drop your stuff at bag check, and get warmed up. Registration opens at 6:00am.
