Spartan and the USA Functional Fitness have joined forces to host the USA Functional Fitness National Championship at the Spartan North American Championship in Glen Jean, West Virginia on August 25-26, 2018. The announcement combines both worlds of functional fitness and obstacle racing.
Bonefrog Series and Richard Diaz of Diaz Human Performance have teamed up to offer obstacle course racing athletes unique training opportunities. The mutual endorsement of the two brands of each other is the latest in the partnerships of coaches and brands. For many obstacle racers who want to take racing to the next level finding a coach is a natural progression.
Savage Race and GORUCK recently teamed up to offer a whole new event combining the two brands. The Savage Race X GORUCK Tough Challenge is set to take place on May 5, 2018, at the Savage Race Maryland event.

Today, that question is answered with the announcement of CRAFT, the Swedish based company, entering into a multi-year partnership with Spartan.
Spartan kicked off their U.S. National Series over the weekend in San Jose. Many of the top athletes from around the obstacle racing community toed the line for the first stop on this year's tour. Top finishers for the weekend were Ryan Woods and Rea Kolbl.
Spartan announced today the return of the military based "Honor Series" with a new presenting sponsor of USAA. The Spartan Honor Series Presented by USAA brings together some of the best Spartan obstacles and military installations around the country. This year athletes will be able to earn an "Honor Series Trifecta" taking on a Sprint, Super, and Beast at various military bases.
Emails went out this morning that Spartan will be returning to Iceland for the second annual Spartan Ultra World Championships. The 24-hour championship race is slated for Saturday, December 8, 2018. This year the championship will include an elite field, age group awards, team, and open divisions.
Earlier this year Mud Run Guide brought you the announcement of Green Beret Challenge’s (GBC’s) first championship event being held in Slab Fork, West Virginia on July 21st. The main highlights include a $5000 prize for first (for both male and females), a 12-hour timed event with 30 Army Special Forces inspired obstacles.
Conquer The Gauntlet is putting out the call for all Obstacle Course Race (OCR) athletes to help inspire the next generation of athletes, fight obesity and ensure our sport has a future. Recently, Conquer The Gauntlet announced they will be breaking ground again with an Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) series just for kids. Unlike some kids based OCR events, Conquer Youth is its own stand-alone series with seven events scheduled in 2018 throughout the Midwest.
World OCR, the Fédération Internationale de Sport d’Obstacles (FISO), recently announced the founding of its legal home in Switzerland. World OCR (FISO) is the recently renamed IOSF (International Obstacle Sports Federation) which has been working for years to establish itself as the governing body for the sport of obstacle course racing.
