Shriners Hospitals for children and the Spartan Kids Foundation have teamed up to help patients overcome obstacles are the Spartan Kids races. Spartan Kids Foundation is the non-profit arm of Spartan. The partnership provides Shriners Hospitals’ patients the opportunity to participate in the Spartan Kids races.
Over the weekend Tough Mudder opened the doors to the first Tough Mudder Bootcamp training studio in Burlington, Massachusetts. This was the first of thirty studios that are expected to open soon. Tough Mudder Bootcamp’s take Tough Mudder Training outside major urban areas around the country with the next studio opening in Las Vegas later this summer.

The famed Adventure Racing company Primal Quest announced it will be hosting the first official Expedition OCR World Championship, sanctioned by World OCR, the Fédération Internationale de Sports d’Obstacles (FISO), formerly the IOSF. The multi-day event is set to take place September 6 - 15, 2018 in British Columbia, Canada.

Spartan introduced today a new format and qualifying events for the 2018 Spartan Team World Championship. The race first debuted in 2017 at the Spartan World Championships weekend in Lake Tahoe with co-ed teams from over twenty countries represented. Spartan looks to build on the momentum of 2017 with a new format and qualifier in 2018.
Top obstacle racers converged on Big Bear, California over the weekend for the third stop of the 2018 Spartan U.S. National Series. The two day even tested the athletes' strength and endurance with over $15,000 on the line in cash and prizes. The top honors went to Ryan Atkins and Rea Kolbl. Atkins bested the rest of the elite men's field by nearly three minutes and Kolbl bested Faye Stenning by nearly a minute to capture the win.
Spartan announced today the launch of the event companies first race in South Africa. The race is set to take place on October 27 outside of Johannesburg. With this announcement, Spartan will now host events on six continents. It was eight years ago today the first event took place outside of Burlington, Vermont.
Tough Mudder and Kill Cliff announce top Obstacle Racing and CrossFit athletes will showdown at the Tough Mudder X World Championship. Top athletes from both worlds will compete for $70,000 in cash prizes. The event is set to take place June 8, 2018, in Richmond, Virginia with the showdown to be broadcast on CBS later in the summer.
