The Ah-Mazing Race was presented by Grit Farm Fitness on August 5th, 2018. This event was held at the Chilliwack Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch in Chilliwack, B.C. Canada. Put on by race directors Allison and John Tai it was a great event for the whole family.
Last year after the Rugged Maniac event in Cloverdale, BC, Canada, my husband and I decided to challenge ourselves and sign up for the Rugged Maniac X - this option allowed runners to complete as many laps of the 5km course as they wanted.
After surviving a terrible car accident, she was told at the age of 32 she would never be the same. Lisabeth Cuppoletti decided not to just lie down and accept what was going on, but decided to focus on becoming strong again. This is her story.
Sheena Hauf was brought to my attention for this series by members of the OCR community. When writing these articles, I try and find women who are relatable and badass in their own ways. After completing multiple marathons and triathlons, she wanted a change of pace.
As you hit play on the first episode, you hear the voice of Will Hicks and his tagline for the show This is the World's Toughest Podcast, Where we talk about any Obstacle Course Race you'd like, as long as it is World's Toughest Mudder".
Deanna Brasz is truly a Badass Woman of OCR in my eyes. In 2017, she ran 10 Tougher Mudders, with 7 podium finishes and 4 first place finishes. If that wasn't bad ass enough, three times last year she ran Tougher Mudder on Saturday morning, and then Toughest Mudder 8 hour event the same night.
In life, often we feel that things should go in one direction, but a life event opens our eyes and leads us along a new path. In Jessika Poppe's case, this was very true. Initially, she wanted to be a nurse, but after the loss of her Grandparents she realized instead of treating the sick, she wanted to help people live healthy and happy lives.
In the OCR community, we all come from a variety of backgrounds, families and well lifestyles. Sarah Horsburgh is no exception. This 31-year-old single parent chooses to embrace a healthy lifestyle with her family. Taking her love of fitness and lifestyle to the next level, Sarah created the Sharklife Obstacle course race - a course designed for kids by kids.
In our OCR community at large, everyone has a story to tell. The stories from members of our community most often contain the reason why they signed up for their first race, and continue to keep going when times are tough. Kim DeVoss suffered two back to back tragedies in her life, Tough Mudder brought her back to life, out of the darkness.
