Course Description:
We have developed a very challenging course with Burnt Corn Creek as the back drop. Runners will encounter over 30 natural obstacles with plenty of man made obstacles to test the strength, endurance and agility of each runner. Runners will encounter creek crossings, slides, monkey bars, log hoist and the shoe sucker just to mention a few of the obstacles.
Aid Stations:
There will be three aid stations through out the course. We will also have fire fighters and swift water rescue personnel at creek crossings. There will be over 75 volunteers stationed through the course to help you have the best experience possible. Fruit and Pepsi products will be waiting for each runner as they cross the line.
Awards:
We will have an awards ceremony at 10:45 for the Elite heat, Corporate Heat and Open Heat. Kids will have an awards ceremony after the kids heat.
Prizes:
All awards for individuals will come from the elite heat.
Men and Women's
1st place $300
2nd place $200
3rd place $100
Medals will also be awarded to age division winners from the Elite heat only.
Corporate teams are competing for the Corporate Cup.
Open teams are competing for the Open Challenge Trophy. Other awards will also be given to teams in open division.
Spectators:
Admission for spectators is FREE! We want your friends and family to come watch you conquer the creek and get in on the fun. There will be several spots for optimal viewing of the race.
Parking:
There will be plenty of parking in O'Bannon Park.
Post Party:
We will have music before, during and after the race. Food vendors will be on site also.
Other:
Proceeds for the race will go to benefit Paws Crossed Dog Rescue and Backpack Buddies, two of our local charities. We have something for all ages from the kids race to the stick in the mud walk. The kids race is for ages 6 to 12. All heats will be timed. You do not have to be able to swim to finish the race. We will have showers at the end of the race and of course there is O'Bannon wash hole if you want to rinse off in the creek.
Team:
We want as many teams as possible in this race. We are offering team discounts and it is a great way to enjoy the experience with some of your closest dirty friends. Teams must have a minimum of 4 runners per team and a maximum of 20 per team. At least 4 runners must finish together to be considered for the team awards.
