Course Description:
5K The Hard Way combines insane obstacles with some of the most rugged, hidden terrain in Nebraska! From first-time mud runners and joggers to hardcore ninja warriors and marathon runners, this obstacle course will challenge everyone. 5K The Hard Way will test your strength, agility, stamina and mind.
Participants wind through rugged forest country and a vineyard. There are several creek crossings and daring suspension bridges. You will sprint across balance beams, scale climbing walls, navigate up and down steep bluffs and run up and over the Magic Bus! And don't forget our infamous 100 foot water slide!
Aid Stations:
There are several water stations. Paramedics are also on location. There is also fruit and water at the finish line.
Awards:
We give customized medals to the first FIVE male and female runners in the FIRST WAVE (10am).
Prizes:
Random prizes are given away from the DJ stage throughout the day for a variety of categories (costumes, runners from out of state, etc.)
Spectators:
There is no charge for spectators and they are welcome to roam most of the course.
Parking:
Parking is free and is located very close to the Registration Tent. There is ample parking so carpooling is totally optional.
Post Party:
The Post-Party is hosted by a live DJ and there is a beer garden with food vendors.
Other:
This event is not timed. There are creek crossings but they are very shallow so you don't have to swim. The parking area is so close to the Registration Tent and Start Line that runners can walk to their cars in a minute and store items. There is washing and changing stations on the premises.
Team:
Runners are welcome to run in teams! Just sign-up for same wave. There is not a number limit and we offer group discounts for large groups and companies.
