Race the Tide Race the Tide, now in it's 6th year, is an exhilarating obstacle course race covering either 7km or 12km of the beautiful Eskdale Valley in Cumbria.
Starting and finishing in the grounds of the magnificent Muncaster Castle, you'll be facing a barrage of hurdles - both on land and over water - as you race to beat the incoming River Esk tidal estuary.

Course Description:

The course partially covers the historic Muncaster Fell route, with tough climbs and descents interspersed with flats along the valley basin. Need a breather? The obstacles are spread throughout the route and are designed to test all your muscles.

12km : 1st Male / 1st Female
7km: 1st Male / 1st Female

Spectators:

Spectators are welcome, however fee TBD applies

Post Party:

Ceilidh & BBQ in the Barn with fully licensed bar.

Other:

At registration, you will have to confirm that you can swim at least 50m, although no stretch of water will be that long in the race.
We aim to have hot running water to help you re-energize before the evening festivities. There may be queues for this luxury, so we recommend booking into the Coachman's Quarters for your accommodation, if you really want instant shower access.
The event is aims to raise funds for Muncaster Heritage Trust, to maintain and restore the historic Muncaster Castle and it's surrounding grounds.
