Course Description:
The event will feature a 5K’ish (that’s about 3 miles for you Regular Joes!) that has 23 unique obstacles. Bring 3 of your friends and your team is ready to go – or you can be your own team if you prefer! The best way to take advantage of both worlds is to race twice – Once with your team then later – with team “You”. Unlike most races where the promoters come in and dig up the land – Team vs. Terrain is just that – you and your team versus the land and all that nature has to offer! The course is designed to challenge the racer by offering a saturation of nature inspired obstacles that challenge both your self-discipline and physical strength. For some of the obstacles, the team and individual racers will complete the same task; however, for many of the obstacles teams will be presented with a different (often more difficult) obstacle than the individual racers.
DIVISIONS:
Expert Joe – No fainthearted people here – race the best of the best – not recommended for beginning OCR/Fitness Challenge racers – Eligible to “Race for the Money” Finals Heat
Competitive Joe – I will finish or die trying types- yes you – competitive to the point of sparring for that perfect parking spot – Eligible to “Race for the Money” Finals Heat
Regular Joe – I have NEVER done anything like this before but I am game and up for a challenge! – Not eligible to advance to Finals Heat
Aid Stations:
There will be one water station on the course at the mid-point (2.5K). Paramedics and medical staff will be on standby. Water will be at the finish line.
Awards:
After the championship heat and before tear down on Sunday February 18th, an awards ceremony for the top times in the team heats will take place.

The winning team will receive $400.00 and a free entry to a future race in 2018 to defend their title. The runner-up team will receive $200.00 and a free future entry in 2018 as well. Other:
Cowart Sport Events has partnered with local obstacle course racers, Greta Swift and David Niermann, and GRIT Fitness to organize a race that appeals to everyone from the OCR elite racers to local families, friends, co-workers or college students. The goal of TvT is to produce a race that is customer friendly as well as cost-friendly to the participant and offers a unique competitive experience in the fast growing competitive OCR/Fitness Challenge market. The course is designed to take advantage of the land the race venue has provided to us. Many of the obstacles use the ditches, steep hills, and creeks that are already there.
The race will be muddy, but a post-race wash station will be available. Before each race, competitors will be put through a brief orientation and gear check before entering the starting chorale. This event is timed using timing chips.
Team:
The course is designed for teams of 4 but has individual obstacle options as well. The last person to cross the finish line on each team will be the qualifying time for that team. Teams are the only competitors eligible for the championship heat on Sunday that has a financial prize. Results for team and individual and team racers will be posted online after the race.
