Denmark is set to host the 2018 OCR European Championships as announced today. The event is set to take place June 29 – July 1, 2018, with a short course, standard course, team relay and open course. The venue has yet to be announced for the event but according to the press release, the location is set to be at a Danish municipality that has experience hosting international sporting events. This is set to be the third edition of the OCR European Championships and the race is supported by the European Obstacle Sports Federation (EOSF).
The Danish Obstacle Course Racing Association (DOCRA) is proud to announce that the third edition of the OCR European Championships will be held in Denmark. The event will take place from June 29th – July 1st, 2018, and it will include a Short Course, Standard Course, Team Relay and an Open Course.
DOCRA is co-hosting the event in cooperation with a Danish municipality (yet to be announced) who has great experience in planning and hosting international sporting events and the city’s Sport & Event Department. The event will be supported by The European Obstacle Sports Federation (EOSF).
The combined forces of DOCRA, the municipality, and the local governments support, experiences, professional qualifications, and close partnership ensure a truly international event, all for the benefit of the 2018 OCR European Championships athletes.
It is a new organizing team and the hosting of the event in a new country also represents a fresh start for the OCR European Championships. The hosting of such an event is a big opportunity and it comes with great responsibility. We want to emphasize that the experiences – both the successes and the challenges – of the previous editions will be taken into consideration. In addition, the 2018 Championships will present a number of adjustments and new initiatives including a reviewed Rulebook, time registration, and a competition jury.
The venue is settled and will be announced in the near future.
The organizing team of the 2018 OCR European Championships is looking forward to welcoming you in Denmark.
Great news about OCR European Championships. But which town or city will be hosting the event ?
