Course Description:
The Polar Rush course weaves through hilly terrain, with snow underfoot adding to the difficulty. Spreading you out on a 400m spiral of death helps minimize obstacle back-ups, while the 14 obstacles add fun and challenge to the course.
Obstacles include:
1. Spiral of death (long spiral, optical illusion)
2. Web of lies (shock cord you have to navigate through the woods)
3. Tube slides
4. Wall climb (8 foot walls, rope or simple step options)
5. Rope Climb (pull yourself up a snow wall)
6. Crazy Carpet (slide away)
7. Polar Crawl (belly down!)
8. Snowy woods run (navigate the debris)
9. Polar-totters (teeter-totters!)
10. Tube Run (feature obstacle - carry your tube up the hill, fly down!)
11. Up n' down (4 foot walls, crawl)
12. Polar Plank (test your balance)
13. A-Frame (classic)
14. Monkey bars (made as easy as possible, harder with winter gloves!)
Aid Stations:
One aid station halfway. Ski Patrol on standby, with volunteers at most obstacles.
Awards:
Awards ceremony for the 9:00 Elite Wave. Awards also for Best individual costume, best group costume, Largest group.
Prizes:
Random draw prizes from our sponsors, as above, best costume, team costume, and more!
Spectators:
No spectator fee, they are welcome all over Horseshoe Resort!
Parking:
Carpooling highly recommended, main parking lot at top of the hill, with bus shuttles for 35 people approx. Every 10 minutes. Limited parking below.
Post Party:
Most competitors don't stay too long in the winter, but there are multiple bonfires, alcohol available. A short distance away participants have access to Beavertails, another outdoor cabana with food sales, and any participants staying over are welcome to the Crazy Horse Saloon for discounts of food and drink.
Team:
We have a team component at time of registration, make sure you put down your team for fun shout-outs at the start and finish! 10% discount for teams of 10 or more - email sean@superflyracing.com for a personalized discount code!
